Yeah, that was a little weird. SE had already given perfectly good explanations for Rud's first and last names, and then he goes and pulls that trick. It felt a little contrived, to be honest.

I agree it felt forced but then it was never said that his Eleint name was connected to his human name. It could be that SE just found it easy to use his human name to build his Eleint name, thus the similarity.

On a side note do most of you believe that Rud Ellale really has surpased Silchas Ruin in strength?

No, I think Silchas would be stronger, but he can't control his form as well. Rud's blood is less dragony making him I think less powerful but more in control, I'll have to work some more logic later to figure out who would win in a fight

Well in RG, i think Shurq mentions an uncle of hers who lived on a Meckros city, and thats where Rud was at the beginning of his life or something, before living with the imass. I think QB notices a dead meckros city in the refugium, and shurq has said that her uncle's city had sunk, so it makes sense that rud lived there before it sunk, after which he lived with the imass.
