Moroccan Mint Tea please.

Gods, this Islamic world protest against that stupid YouTube film is galling me. I just don't understand how killing your fellow countrymen solves anything. Yes a foreigner is nailed here and there, but really it's almost like an extreme form of littering in your own neighborhood. Just makes it more trashy. Makes me sad.

Any room on your spaceship DW?

What galls me the most about that is what a well coordinated vocal minority can do with the help of the media. This same media that ignores every moderate and their attempts to be heard and urge calm and try and rectify the situation. That is what really pisses me off.

Yeah there's room on the ship.

Evening to you all. I currently invite you to Scotch hour. Scotch for all as we read interesting current events.
In my case I have discovered that Finland will be introducing "Crowd sourced" aspects to their legislative process. In other words they're bringing back direct democracy via technology. I have been dreaming of this for a while. It encourages me to see this.

*Sips Scotch*

Now all I need is a roaring fireplace in a Victorian study, a monocle and a pipe.

I could handle this... I'll take mine neat. If you don't mind, I'll take mine out back. A night like this, I think I'll have a smoke and enjoy the night.

Wish me luck, today is test 1 of 2 for the Medical Board Licensing Exam. This is the written one, lasts 9 hours, and I'm going to die.

See you on the otherside.

No problem, how about a Single malt 18 year old Scotch. Very clean taste.
And yes I do have some fine cigars on hand. Here you go.

Good luck Gust. Hope you're allowed powerbars during the exam because at 9 hours that sounds nuts.

Social media cracks me up. One person says something about National sibling day and the only thing all over FB ant twitter is my friends wishing their siblings a happy national sibling day.
Which was April 10.

Impressive. I guess that's the reason why Failbook exists.
No worries here.

So, was talking to me cousin today and he mentioned how he met some park ranger or something reading the Crippled God (his fourth time apparently). So obviously he tried to engage the guy with some serious malazan talk but the guy was a total stick in the mud. He was not interested at all in having discussions about awesomeness and even when asked who his favorite character was he shrugged and responded " I dunno". My cousin said he became depressed and left. I don't have any point to make but I find this quite shocking. You'd think that if you meet a random fellow malazanite there would be at least something. Plus its the guys fourth time reading this shit so...

I actually haven't met any random person liking or reading the Malazan books. Has anyone else? I'm sure the encounter went better than the one here.
No Touchy.

If I see someone randomly reading Erikson, I usually just say "Love those books" or "Good read" with a smile, and leave it at that. If they want to continue the conversation, that's fine. The main problem is, I believe, the fact that someone has come out of nowhere and interrupted you while you're clearly busy reading, and they suddenly want to talk to you about the books. Plus, for some, reading is their time out from other people.

Tell your cousin not get too upset about it, if the guy didn't want to talk, he may have had his reasons. One of those reasons might have been that he was a douche.

First of all, the new Finland thing is not direct democracy. It only forces the elected officials to eventually vote upon what is brought up.

However, I will take some of that Scotch and a cigar, if you would be so kind.

True, though it is a nice experiment in the right direction.

Here's your Scotch and cigar. Now take a leather chair by the fire place in the Victorian study while Sir Patrick Stewart reads selected excerpts from Dune (the novel not the movie).

It's time for tea.

Today's tea is nice Assam Bonaspaty. There are of course cookies, scones, tea cakes and a vast selection of high brow literature.
