Well, you take a rock, and you throw it at someone. It's not rocket surgery.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Good afternoon. Is there room at the bar? And what would people recommend.

So is airsoft a replacement for Nerf? It's been a while since I pegged someone with a foam dart let alone a rock.

Airsoft uses replica guns that fire hard plastic BBs at varying speeds (usually between 320 and 450 FPS), the point is to basically be able to be in a real FPS and military simulation.
The dynamics are of course completely different. During the forest fight I spent most of it lying down and keeping the enemy hiding behind a wall for 15 minutes.

Sounds bad. Here I'll give you an oak cask of whiskey. That should keep your brain nice and pickled.
As for your heart well, I've got wine.

I'm guessing the situation on the home front hasn't gotten better?

I've been working at my (unpaid) internship for two weeks now. And I have to say that I'm enjoying it. Not the lack of pay, but the work environment.
For the past 6 years I've been in nothing but shitty wage slave and customer service jobs, nothing that had anything to do with what I was studying in anyway.
While I may have hated learning some parts of records management, now that I'm actually doing it it's good, if only for the difference with my current job.
I get into work and can decide when I go on break and I won't have to worry about being interrupted by some stupid client who can't understand the refund policy. I can actually get a specific job done without being interrupted for anything all day. I don't have to wear a uniform, there's no cubicles (here anyway). I can either work standing up or at a desk and I can listen to music without headphones unless someone says they're bothered.
It's quiet and I work at more or so my own rhythm with only a mandate to guide me leaving the rest to me.

I can't describe the joy of knowing I won't see some stupid client all day. That I won't have to pretend to be a robot or appease of bunch of assholes.

Which makes it all the more jarring when I go to work (which is paid) so that I can continue to feed myself and keep the roof over my head. For a while work was just work. I went through the day like most people, like a train on rails just plowing through it in the hopes that ignoring the fact of my job could make it easier. For a while it worked, or should I say it worked until the internship.
Jesus, going to work now feels like walking to hell. An actual acute sense of dread grips me when I walk in the door. As much as I've complained about clients it was always and assumed fact of work for me, an inevitable. Or just being a lab bitch moving things around.
Now no, I've seen what a possible job in my profession will be and now my tolerance has sunk even more for my current source of income.

I'm professional at work only because I depend on it to live, but I HATE at least 50% of clients (my coworkers are fine, the only person I didn't like left a few weeks back) and am indifferent to 47% of the others.

While I've seen (from people here on the board as well as near me) that "office" jobs can be replete with idiots and assholes, that there can be bad office drama and conflict there at least far fewer customer / public interactions which makes it infinitely better (since drama among coworkers can also occur in shitty jobs and that would be level 666 of Dante's Hell if it went down that far).

Anyway, I'm going to have a beer to fight off the fear of not getting a job in my profession after my internship.

I'm drinking to the demise of my twin brother's romantic life.

It's been a comical train-wreck of obliviousness and wanton emotional damage.

So... tequila?

Tequila it is. A great way to fight off awareness and start the evening.
Condolences to your brother's romantic life, unless it was for the best. Either way

What did he do, get into an argument with her about some deeply held belief of hers (like homeopathy)? Get arrogantly pigheaded? Those are no-noes, and I should know I do the first one often enough and still do the second though I'm trying to stop, so it's not as bad as it used to be.

Are we talking bulldozing buildings? Or just ruining an aesthetic?

It's twenty to 1am and I'm having some now. I call it the 'technically morning' exclusion clause.

I dont know.

From what i hear its a pain in the ass because of all the strict guidelines and building codes you have to follow. And sometimes there is a committee who runs those districts and everything you change or upgrade has to be approved by them.

But if they werent too strict, it could be cool. Those places are usually top dollar and if you could find a piece of shit you could make some serious profit.

I thought of you when I saw a piece of shit with some very old (and certainly nice in its day) architecture on my way home yesterday in the old City.
I'm guessing as long as the outside stay similar you should be good. Though you'd need to emigrate to Canada.
