Now I'm working on Nanowrimo, and well it's going well tonight, I'm still so far beyond behind.

i finished typing out the memo I wrote yesterday. it was said to be "no longer than 2500 words. Mine ended up being 1800. I Really don't see the point of writing anything larger than that. Especially since the lawyer who instructed us on how to write it warned us that we will likely write too much and have to learn how to write less.

seeing as it's a pass/fail, I really don't think i'll be doing much moe beyond proper referencing and a quick edit.

it's a pretend case. based on classic references from a century and a half ago. the idea is to introduce us to the process and method of legal writing. Learn the formats and all that fun stuff.

but yeah, in real life, that's the first thing a lawyer would be doing after getting a job, in most cases. Research and summarize.

What's the case about?

golf balls.

a conflict between two kids that found a bunch of lost golf balls on an unattended driving range, and brought them to sell at the course's Pro Shop. the course claims that the balls belong to them, b/c they were found on the course's territory. the catch being, all balls have the logo of the old owner, who sold the course to the new owner a while ago and can no longer be found.

I have to write out an analysis of which side has better claim to the balls.
