I think i can do the 3rd, depending on times. Possibly the 2nd, although I will have been in 6 hours of meetings that day, so I will likely either be dead by that point, have gone out straight from work to get caned, or come home and just lay there listlessly.

Well it seems like Higuian was on fire for Argentina this morning. Our first hat trick out the tounament. That win puts Argentina in very good shape to get out of group. At least they kept the pressure on all game this time instead of gassing out after the first half. Very entertaining indeed, they put a hurt on South Korea.
Morning to all non-soccer fans as well! Cupcakes and cappuccinos are available at the bar.
@Pathos, are you sure there's no way you can make it at all on the 3rd? Even if you join us later on in the evening? If we don't do it on the 2nd or 3rd the next available date for me will likely be July 17th.

it was a very entertaining game! scoring 3 goals in a game is pretty impressive, but it didnt seem like south korea had any kind of cohesive defense. i missed the first half but i got plenty of action with the 2 goals in the second lol.

Ugh, I swear I have the worst timing. I had a few minutes before my next patient was in so I decided to run down to my car to grab something. I swear I took one step out the door and the heavens opened engulfing me in a torrential downpour. My scrubs and lab coat are completely soaked! My secretary offered to go down to the car for me, but I said no no it's fine I can do it. Damn it! Guess it's time to change into a spare set of scrubs and I've got plenty of lab coats. It's a good thing I always have some in my office.

So a loss for Germany this morning, that makes the group battle in D a bit more interesting. USA has not come out well so far in their game, down 2-0 already to Slovenia in the first half. They're going to need to pick it up here and do something if they want to have s decent chance of making it out of the group.

US has sucked, deservedly down. I was terrified of the back four after giving up 4 to Czech in a friendly. That terror has been borne out.

Well they've picked it up a bit here in the second half, but I think that's desperation. I agree, they're still playing poorly, definitely don't deserve to win this game. They'll be lucky if they can pull out the draw here.

Sigh, another Monday morning, I hate Mondays! It's only been made worse by seeing Portugal score seven fucking goals on North Korea! I hate Portugal with a passion!
On the bight side yesterday was another win for Brazil!!!! Awesome game, fantastic play, although that second yellow card to Kaka was complete and utter bullshit. However he really shouldn't have put himself in the situation to get the first yellow and had been asking for it all game with his antics, so it is what it is. Plus Italy's game ended in a draw and they are the only team I hate as much as Portugal, so all in all a great Sunday!!
@FW Don't think we have any fathers here, or at least none that I know of. Nice of you to wish us all happy father's day though. Didn't you do the same thing for mother's day? Have a cupcake for being so sweet.
SB your doughnuts are on the bar, boxed up with a bow, and a breakfast burrito on the side. Red velvet cupcakes are available at my cupcake stand for anyone who would like some. Coffee and tea are on of course and I'm also giving bacon away with the cupcakes, because everyone loves bacon, or at least they should.
We also need to get this skittle night straightened out. So let me know if the 3rd is okay for you guys, I'm going to start up a list of people who can make it and we'll go from there. If the 3rd is out our fall back date is the 17th.

I'm alive.
I was visiting the folks for the week and so I wasn't on the net.
It was fun, free food, sleeping in (sometimes) and not working.
I see you guys have been productive. Lots of world cup talk.
I also took the opportunity to buy some books I can't find here.
Which means two Alastair Reynolds books, one of which is almost finished.
Today I have work in an hour, a bit of a rough come back seeing as how I got home at 12am.
Oh well.
I'll be back on more regularly again.
