I could see them partnering with Crytek this year for Crysis related stuff.

Crysis Remaster coming (everywhere, including the switch (!!!) ).

But apparently it's self-published by Crytek

Just saw a suggestion on Resetera that EA could ressurect the Syndicate license as a X-com like Acton Strategy game. What with this being the year of Cyberpunk I'd be all over this.

You guys getting excited for Microsoft's Xbox Series X event Thursday? Man, my head is aswirl and buzzing with what we might see. I hear Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a definite, hopefully we get game play. And damn, it would be swa-eet if we got some Cyberpunk 2077.

Damn, they've really shaped that power on sound into something cool. It's come a long way over generations.

I'm stupidly excited for the Xbox event. With no E3 to look forward to I just want something, anything, new, sequel, what ever.

The new console is looking quite chunky...in a thicc, elongated boxy sort of way. Baby can get them cheeks a twerkin'. I wonder how long before they introduce a slim version?

They don't have a whole lot of space to cut. If you check out the Digital Foundry stacking video, you can see how tight all the components are. They are using two back-to-back motherboards, essentially, to fit it all in that one slim box.

The only thing they can reasonably take out without sacrificing performance might be the disk drive. . Then it's become a shorter, but still square-based (cuz of that fan size), box. Storage is an NVME that's hooked onto the mobo, so that takes about as much space as an SD card adaptor, so you're not saving any space that way, and all the other stuff (CPU, GPU, RAM) is kinda essential.

Someone tell me about Tales of Vespira please!

It's a JRPG. Considered a classic as far as the Tales series is concerned

So there's this movie, Cannibal Holocaust, from the early 1980s that's earned some dubious renown. The sequel is going to be in video game form...dafuq?

Infamous 80s exploitation movie Cannibal Holocaust is getting a video game sequel

Deodato will write and direct the "interactive horror graphic adventure", simply titled Cannibal, with players assuming control of numerous characters on a "desperate expedition" to the jungles of Borneo. According to Fantastico, the game will touch on themes that made the original saga popular, including "natives' lives, told in its rawness, and cannibalism, powerful metaphors that reveal the most disturbing and deep impulses in our society"

Having games be sequels to movies isn't a novel concept. See: Enter the Matrix, Tron 2.0, John Woo's Stranglehold.

This particular genre isn't really my thing tho.

Speaking of cannibalism, there's supposed to be a new TLOU2 trailer out today. Wonder how they'll tiptoe around the leaked spoilers. Any comments section for the trailer will likely be a minefield of spoilers.

New The Last of Us 2 trailer

Nothing particularly spoilery.

Is there actually a story description for the game? I assume it's a basic, you killed my girlfriend, now I'm gonna kill you all kind of thing.

Nice trailer. Good for what trailers are good for, building momentum and interest. I will not click to bring it up on YouTube and open myself to any possibility of reading comments. YouTube comments are toxic anyway, and I avoid them like the coronavirus, but even more so with the spoiler bullshit now with TLoU2. I am getting the TWD vibe / formula of traversing through one horrible group of humans after another from the trailer. It can work, if it isn't over done and done horrible like TWD. Hopefully they don't make that mistake with this game, but I do have some worries and my expectations/excitement has dropped a little.

I agree, my anticipation for TLOU 2 also dropped a bit after watching this trailer - it seems very standard revenge tale type stuff, with her murdering about 20 people in as many seconds, which is a bit disappointing and not particularly stimulating. I haven't read any of the supposed spoilers that have been leaking, so I don't know if there's more to it than that (and I don't want to know!).

If it's "just" a revenge story I might actually be more interested. My anticipation for Part 2 was somewhat low because I'm not that fond of survival games and the dreary post apocalyptic nonsense.

Inside X-box goes live in 3 hours time:

HYPE!

It's going to be gameplay focused so it'll be interesting to see how long the show will be. If you're doing 5-15 minute gameplay showcases you could make a pretty long event. I assume it'll be the typical program where certain flagship titles are given a lot of room and other titles are relegated to compilation sequences.

I haven't seen any leaked trailers or rumors for this so I'm kinda hoping to get knocked out of my chair with some unannounced surprises.

lol, came here to post the same link

what we know:

-under an hour long.
-focused on 2020 titles
-Cyberpunk likely not there, since they've announced their own even June 11th
-Devolver and Deep Silver did the Twitter "like" thing for the announcement post, hinting they might have stuff?
-all games are 3rd party, all running Series X enhanced.
-AC Valhalla and one more title are familiar to the Xbox stage; others are not.

gonna be interesting.....

Awwww yeah! gimme! gimme! gimme!

It's going to be aggravating though to keep track of all these events done separately from E3 as they happen over the summer and beyond. It was nice to know that over half a week in June you could get a hype event and plan accordingly. Asshole coronavirus had to ruin that.

I think the point behind Keighley's "Summer Games Fest" is to create a centralized news hub for all of these announcments, shows and reveals.
Speaking, of, he'll be revealing a new game (world premiere) at noon EST on Tuesday.

Bright Memory Infinite? What a terrible title. But cool looking gameplay. Reminded me of a mix between Titan Fall and Shadow Warrior.

Scorn looks beautifully disgusting. Thought it was an Alien game at first.
