45 minutes till Jedi Fallen Order reveal. Hype rising.

Edit: Watched the story trailer reveal. Ehhhh, I'm sure it will be fine but none of that footage struck me as particularly interesting or spectacular. Not like 1313 when that was revealed.

I hope we get 15 minutes of gameplay at E3 or something like that.

Story trailer.

Battlefront had a good story trailer...

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

New Battlefront didn't have a story. Do you mean New Battlefront 2?

Yeh. Battlefront 2 had an impressive story trailer iirc. But the gameplay, for me, was a waste of such a huge licence. If they were confident with what they'd made, theyd show some gameplay.

(Is the games industry is the only one where they can put a full trailer out with the disclaimer 'not actual game footage' on it and it's accepted?!)

I haven't played God of War 3 or Star Wars; Dark Forces (the 2 games that are used as reference points in marketing).

The concept could be interesting, but I'll need to see actual gameplay demonstrating how the Force meshes with combat before I can form an opinion on whether I'm interested.

If you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, What Remains of Edith Finch is free this month. You should grab it (can't beat that price!Posted Image), but more importantly, you should play this game, it is excellent. If you want a break from the FPS and open world burn out from playing too many of those types of games, you gotta give it a go. But just play it regardless.

Rage 2 reviews lower then my required threshold in order to purchase. Would maybe consider picking up when it is on sale. Any you post-apocalyptic savages going to pull the trigger and play?

Negative. It had to be blowing peoples minds for me to pull the trigger now. With what i'm seeing its getting pushed back to when its heavily on sale and i'm done with BL3.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

yeah, 80 CAD for an open-world shooter with about 12 hours of main story and extensive DLC roadmap? pass.

OTOH, Plague Tale: Innocence is getting pretty solid reviews. Did the post-reviews pre-order since I could get an extra 10% off using a Fanatical coupon. I'll be playing this once I'm done with Sekiro. As a bonus, I get to practice my French since the game's by a French dev and set in France. So I'll use the French voices with English subs and see howmuch I can understand w/o reading the subs.

I was hoping for a better review average for Rage 2 as well. I'm curious about Plague Tale but I'm not interested in paying a lot for a beautiful escort quest.

I'm honestly not very hot on games currently. I've been on a book kick lately, readying a couple books a week and I'll keep that up as long as I have the hunger for it.

I do play 5-10 hours of My Time at Portia a week still though. I love that game.

Disappointing but unsurprising that a post-Doom16 Id shooter isn't great. And it sucks because Rage 1 was really good fun.

Heads up to anyone not from the West/EU: EGS started a sale. Despite saying they don't believe in sales.

Some pretty good discounts if you're buying from Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East or Latin America.

EU, UK, and the dollar countries... not so much-pretty standard 10 dollars off AAA pre-orders.

Profoundly more interesting and compelling then anything the last season of GoT could proffer.

In not-really-E3-related news:

Guessing this'll hit PC sometime in late 2020, just like the first one did

Nioh was cool enough, but the story and the world were so bland and unengaging it couldn't hold onto my attention for long.

It looks really good, but I worry I'll get bored with the sameness of the unit roster after Total Warhammer

Played a little Dauntless with a friend recently. It's a little bit like Monster Hunter, but cell shaded, free to play and at least in the console version, markedly gimpy in the server performance. Decent,. but...

I haven't actually followed the development closely. My understanding is it has quite a fantasy flavor to it. You can play classical or More mythical, I was expecting some wierd units

Why does The Witness still cost £30 on the psn store? I thought it would be a bargain by now, especially as it doesn't look any more elaborate than a free app puzzle game.

I need something light after finishing Sekiro. Is Rime any good?

Or should I just give in and get Breath of the Wild?
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
