Rocksteady is hiring a whole bunch of people for work on a "highly anticipated AAA next-gen title". They are working with WB again (owners of the DC Universe), and apparently aiming for a 90+ on metacritic. Also, hiring a community manager for 2 years hints at likely release date.

Both Eurogamer and PC Gamer seem to think an announcement of the game title is imminent.

Heavy speculation it'll be a Superman game. I'm kinda meh on that; I don't know much about comics, but I thought it was common knowledge that he's basically invincible except for Kryptonite? That'd make for pretty poor game mechanics.

I feel like this news is announced at least once a year. A superman game or a justice league game or a suicide squad game, etc.

My money is on a superman game as well. Question is what kind if game mechanics. Superman isn't always invulnerable depending on the writer. Heavy ordnance, energy weapons, magic or kryptonite weapons can hurt him or ultimately kill him. You could have red sun light generators or what ever nonsense that could limit superman abilities.

Superman travels back to Krypton and you have to get a job as a regular guy. You can choose between accountant or marketing consultant.

The reviews I've read or watched have been overall positive about Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Not 'excellent' per se, but 'good'. And not ranked as high as Spider-Man. ACG gives it a buy, but with the guidance that if your really liked Rise of the Tomb Raider then you'll probably be happy with Shadow. I still need to play Rise, Posted Image. No need for me to get to it now, but hopefully Shadow will be at a strong discount by the time I get to it.

PC version is riddled with bugs, as per RPS. Edit: seems most were fixed by the Day1 patch)

Also, to echo Morgoth's comment on tax lawyers: at the Tokyo Game Show preview showcase Sega revealed a new game from the Yakuza team about a criminal defense lawyer turned vigilante: Project Judge.

I'm pretty sure Sega will eventually bring that game to PC, just as they started with the Yakuza games.

Also revealed is a PS4 exclusive action RPG where a knight (or possibly a legionnaire/ gladiator) fights a triceratops in what I'm presuming is going to be Souls-like combat.

Nintendo Online! UGH

So disappointing. Nintendo has gone after ROMS sites with such gusto I was hoping for something spectacular! Instead we get 10 SNES games, with more to come... What does that mean? Build the emulation software and offer them all. Why not?

Also I was hoping for games from generations beyond just snes. Compared to PS plus or games with gold this is kinda sad. As much as I love me some Mario nostalgia this is not good value for money.

I have been sitting and waiting for Online to go live. Pretty disappointed by the availability as well.

My hope is that they actually have a lot of content qued and that they rapidly add or swap games. But this is Nintendo so who knows.

This will make me play and complete the early mario games though.

I've pretty much decided to treat myself to a Switch at Christmas but not really considered the online service, apart from the chance to play Mario Kart with mates. I've held off until now waiting for the number of Switch exclusives that I want to play to hit double figures and it's just ticked over that. Hoping there'll be some decent bundles available come December. Nintendo seems to be dominating my gaming time at the moment, what with me belatedly falling in love with the 3DS as well.

It's 20 dollaradoos for a year of Online so it's manageable.

Played a bit of super mario this morning. Its hard and slow. Nintendo's button schemes are weird.

The great irony will be if they've pulled down ROMs for Seiken Densetsu 3 as the only way to play that in the west is via the fan translation.

I have my softmod Xbox with Coinops anyway. I can get my retro fix from there.

I think it's infuriating. For the Metal Gear fan in me it's great, more weirdness and grandiose characters but I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS GAME ACTUALLY IS!

This looks like the start of a boss fight but it could just be hide from the monster time. We've seen footage of the character with a gun but for all we know it's just to scare away bears and the whole game is just a bizarre story about an unfortunate package delivery man.

There was a Japanese Death Stranding event yesterday that Im hoping somebody puts subtitles on. It showed some old and new footage but I couldn't understand a thing.

It's certainly some kind of a weird thing.

I don't think I'll ever have any appreciation for Kojima until Konami does the inevitable Metal Gear series remaster and finally brings these games to the PC.

New Super Mario Bros U deluxe for switch announced. I'm fairly pleased as I want to play it. However what I really want them to release is Mario maker!

Edit - https://www.google.c...YuEeacEw7dn6qNf

This could be promising

Been watching some Assassin's Creed reviews.

https://www.reddit.c...=reddit-android

My interest in Odyssey has gone from meh to pretty pumped. I'd buy it this Friday if it wasn't for Red Dead being on the way. I don't want to get 20-30 hours into Odyssey and then having to switch to a different massive open world game.

Odyssey is making me want to look into the AssCreed games.

I'll look into playing the first one (have the Director's Cut on GOG) sometime next year

You all know I'm a huge AC fan and have been since 1 - Odyssey looks like they've pulled the stops out again and completely redefined it. It was getting stake at AC3 and they brought out Black Flag. Unity was a shoddy (but pretty) mess, and in response they made Syndicate.

Then they changed everything with Origins and it seems Odyssey will ramp it up again! Man it looks sweet.

Shame I shall never play it haha.

I didn't play Unity or Syndicate (sorta wanted too, but just didn't have time to). I got back in with Origins due to the overwhelming positive response it received, plus I couldn't resist an open world where ancient Egypt was the setting (and it didn't disappoint, it was beautiful).

Looks like Odyssey is getting pretty much the same reception as Origins. Much like Apt though, I'm laser focused on RDR2, so will have to wait to play Odyssey. I have read criticisms that Assassin's Creed is no longer really Assassin's Creed games anymore and is only carrying forward the name.
