Just listened to the Giant Bombcast this morning. They mentioned the Steam release of Chrono Trigger in passing. Apparently it's a port of the mobile version. Word is that is not good.
I'd torrent the thing and not feel bad about it but don't tell the mods I said that

If you want it, find the lastest version of CoinOps. I have a softmod Xbox (original) with that pack installed, and it has like 10k retro games. Also includes Seiken Densetsu 3.

I love Chrono Trigger. It's my favourite JRPG. I played it on the DS.

As mentioned elsetheread, I decided to revisit my Kickstarter account, and looked @ my pledges and the amount of successful projects.
I backed 23 projects that were successfully funded (2 of them took 2 tries). Excluding repeats, I backed 3 failed projects.
16 of those resulted in me getting completed games (in the case of Shadowrun Returns: 2 games, b/c Dragonfall ended up being a separate game)
2 were flops where the devs faded into obscurity (The Mandate; Ashen Rift)
2 are still on target to completion with regular updates (Pathologic 2.0; Underwolrd Ascendant)
2 are WIPs way beyond the original date (Graywalkers Purgatory; and Bloom: Memories), but continue providing monthly updates.
and one (Kingdom Come: Deliverance) is status unknown
so, overall, I'd say I had good experience with Kickstarter. What about you guys?

Cyanide (the people making Call of Cthulhu game AND White Wolf's "Werewolf: The Apocalypse) are apparently also making a Paranoia RPG.
That's a lot of PnP adaptations coming from Europe. At least some of them must surely be good?
EDIT: also, this one, published by Funcom. It's apparently adapting a Swedish PnP game "Mutant"

I've funded 9 games on Kickstarter. Of the 9 only 4 have been released. The rest are either failed developments or appear to be in development hell.
I don't actually care about their status. The games I've kickstarted I did because I believed in the idea and wanted them to get made, not because I actually needed to play them. I don't think of kickstarter as early access or pre-orders. I think of them as charity or good will angel investments.

Great trailer that shows nothing about what the game is actually like. But it certainly got my attention.

So, this is a X-com like tactical turn based shooter? Going by the screen shots, this actually looks very solid for a mid tier studio. And it's coming out in 2018.
I couldn't get into X-com 2 but I do like these cover based turn based shooters.
I've added it to the 260 so games on my wishlist (sigh).

Lately playing mostly Hearts of Iron IV and its Kaiserreich mod (even if you don't play, do check it out, like, dry ).
Honorable mentions go to Stellaris and Elite: Dangerous.
Any armchair generals, map-staring specialists or space-truckin' CMDRs here?

I spent quite some time on XCOM 2 WOTC in the last month and a half, while waiting for HoI4s Awakening the Tiger (since they'd overhaul the command structure).
Since then, unmodded HoI4 is my main occupation, re-teaching myself the principles of the game again as the Soviets.

Well, it's a Paradox game, so 'one day' may be many months distant. Add in that my gaming pattern is basically 45 minutes three times a week in the early morning (in between when the wife leaves and when I have to) and twice a week an hour in the evening after she goes to bed until I feel I need to do the same, and I can never predict which evenings this will be... I get old. So, theoretically, "YES!" Practically, it's more of a "I'd love to, but..."

I was very happy to see the announcement of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I expected it to come out in 2017. I hope switching studios didn't hurt it. Rise of the Tomb Raider may very well have been the best game coming out of 2015. Really liked it.
Considering how much fun you've had with Dishonored and Mankind Divided, Ment, I imagine you'd love Prey. It was really solid. I feel like it was missing some special ingredient to really set it apart, maybe just a better story, but the gameplay and environmental exploration was fantastic.
Speaking of announcements, Ubisoft gave The Crew 2 a release date (June 29th) and released some trailers:

It's under a strict NDA so I am not going kiss and tell but I don't think Ubisoft would sue me for saying it's really good. Feels like the kind of change they made between WatchDogs 1 and 2. Yes, I do love my 0451 games. It was very tempting to jump into more Arkane goodness after MD, but I decided to clean up my backlog first a bit.

Should I care? Is the single player worth playing? I have heard the competitive multiplayer was improved dramatically with private servers.
edit: Not actually on sale. A new starter edition to entice new players. You get only 6 out of 12 classes to start.

Did anyone get Batttlefront 2?
I think QT was playing a while back. I was just reading about the loot box overhaul, and wondering if it's worth picking up now it's a bit cheaper.
I really just want it for the fighter battles, but can you actually play as the Falcon etc or is there still a ridiculous system that doesn't let you play as anything special unless you've racked up a ton of hours and upgrades?
