Senua's Sacrifice is one freaky, gorgeous game.

So I'm absolutely loving Monster Hunter: World.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

I love everything I've seen about the game, except the grind. Spending 30 minutes or an hour taking down a lizard just seems painful.

That's the fight, and its super exhilarating. That's the meat of the gameplay.

Each one is different because of the terrain, and apparently once you get to the 'end-game' the monsters are stronger, have more moves, and a bunch of different stuff. I'm not there yet...

I played a Steam game on the weekend called "Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime". It's a co-operative game where you're all piloting a spaceship in a top-down 2D area shooting bad guys and rescuing bunnies. The kicker is that the ship has eight rooms and there are only four of you, so you have to run back and forth between stations and hilarity ensues when enemies show up on all sides and everyone thinks they're the one person who will leave their station to go activate the superweapon.

Wasn't very difficult, but apparently there are harder difficulty levels we could have played. Either way it was fun.

While I'm at it, anyone have any suggestions for similar frantic-cooperative games? (Aside from Overcooked)

I remember there being some kind of similar "Robot walking" game, where you're manning different parts of the robot, like legs, cannons, shield, etc.

Something like Guns of Icarus and the upcoming Sea of Thieves might also be interesting?

In other news, Farcry 5 still looks promising:

I love the farcry games. I'm replaying farcry 4 right now for probably the fifth time. The story is ass but I just love the combat and exploration so much in that game. I cannot wait to drive a combine harvester into a group of baddies in farcry 5.

Thanks Apt. Couldn't find anything about walking robots. If it pops back into mind, let me know!

Doesn't sound like either of them has local co-op, just online.

What about Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light or Helldivers? Or Battleblock Theater and Cuphead?

GOG is now listing Darksiders III and Biomutant as "coming soon".

Both published by THQ Nordic. Nordic are generally pretty good on PC games, so here's hoping.

I'll probably try to replay the first 2 Darksiders sometime in the next few months, because I'm quite keen to see this series do well and continue. I might actually pay full-price for this one.

Monument valley

Ridiculous fishing

Or if you're like me just play all the picross/nonogram games you can handle.

Also, even though you don't like grind or microtransactions you should try out Clash Royal. It's ridiculously good and if you're patient there's no need to pay for anything.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is really fun on the iPhone, so I assume it works for the pad too.

You can get picross on ipad? The Nintendo DS game?

I actually don't mind clash royal but it gets annoying to have to play 4 times a day all day. That said I thought it was fair to non paying players. I felt the game respected my choice not to play. On the other hand you have a game like Free blade which was recommended by the editor and makes every top game list. Its fun sure, but it wants money for everything. Your gears not good enough buy better, you need to buy something to unlock those missions, to unlock those daily quests. You want to speed up the forging time of your gear watch this advert, you want to get some one time bonuses watch this advert. No game should ever come across s greedy as this one. Don't know how people stand it.

I'm not sure what the deal with Picross actually is. I think it's a brand and nonograms are the generic versions of picross. However when looking through android's play store there are hundreds of games called picross X Y Z. So you can find picros games for mobile. Mind you, many of them are not very well made.

So, chrono trigger on Steam is now a thing.

For someone who never owned a console (and consequently missed the "golden age" of JRPGs entirely), is this worth looking into?

I think that's very uncertain. Have you ever played any 2D turn based RPG's at all?

Personally I loved it when I played it but I'm not sure it holds up if you were never into that genre. However it is a classic and along with FF6 (3 in Europe) it is pretty much the pinnacle of the genre.

I think you owe yourself to try it.

Is the steam version just an emulation or did they change anything? It might be worth looking up reviews because Square has a tendency of messing up these games with new graphics and dialogue.

In other news, people should check out the new game released by the makers of FTL: Faster than Light.

It's called Into the Breach and it looks sweet:
