I can't recall, has Red Dead been pushed again or is it still slated for March?
Was RDR2 given a release date of sometime in March? I was under the impression Rockstar gave it a "Spring 2018" release date. Which could mean March, but also could be later (to as late as early June). I know you can pre-order the game, so not sure if that can help gauge when the release date will be. But yeah, I don't think a specific date has been announced yet. I'm sorta worried they may push it out again, tbh.

Isn't The Last of Us Part 2 meant to be coming out this year? Or was that never confirmed?

HA HA HA HA HA HA... *deep breath* HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Sony always announces their games like 3 years before they arrive or more. It was announced in 2016 and, considering there might be delays I'd guess it comes out 2019 earliest, probably 2020. Just like Final Fantasy 7 part 1 and Kingdom Hearts 3 and Death Stranding.
I don't know why Sony is so adamant on revealing stuff so long out. It's confusing and frustrating.
I believe Sony's two big releases this year is God of War in March and Spiderman in the fall. I think Days Gone is not out before 2019?
EDIT: Oh, Detroit Become Human might be this year. That one I am really excited about.

RDR2 release date leaked as being June 8th: http://www.gameinfor...lease-date.aspx
Take that with a pinch of salt.

June is a curious month. It's traditionally one of the slowest times of the year. It's also the month that is the busiest with pre-E3 announcements and the media scrambling to prepare for the big show. Seems like a poor strategy in terms of maximum coverage. Then again, this is Rockstar, they can pick any time of the year and they're guaranteed to make a big splash.
Surprised they didn't just target September, since I think that's what they've gone for several times in the past.

So this month is a friggin' doozy for me as I can't justify three games but there are three out that I want:
Secret of Mana remaster - I'm mainly excited for this because if it sells well in the West, Squeenix might actually do a remaster of Seiken 3. I will lose my shit if this happens. Prepare yourselves for that eventuality. I've been waiting fifteen years for it.
Dragon Ball FighterZ -It's an ArcSys fighter but not as technical as BlazBlue, although I expect there will be a lot of nuance regardless. It looks like very good fun and a lot of friends are jumping on it - this is my defined pick for 26/01, which happily is also payday!
Under Night In-Birth ST - another anime fighter, I've wanted to play UN for about five years but never had a compatible console for it. Waldstein looks like the boi here - grappler with midscreen tendencies and actual tools. AND HE HAS A FORWARD DASH. OH MY.

Just been watching some beta gameplay of Kingdom Come Deliverance.
The detail they've put into this game is staggering. It looks like a really good blend of realism and story - and the direction they've taken, ie a non handholding approach, no multiplayer, with attention spent on the realism of the environment and era... I don't know how I'm not going to like this.

Any thing from CES this year tickle you guys' fancy?
I've been unable to pay attention to what transpired and what devices generated all the buzz. Maybe you tech heads who were able to break it down can list your best in shows here. That would be awesome.

I believe there some fancy gizmo's this year at CES. Most interesting might be that Nvidia G-sync 65 Inch gaming monitor that can sync frames up to 120fps or hertz... or something like that... I don't understand frames.
In other news, I didn't know how much I wanted to buy a 3DS before I saw this trailer:

Ok, just some details I picked up from watching gameplay. Minor things maybe but most seem to be things I often find lacking in other rpgs.
- The forests look real.
- Food spoils.
- A realistic stamina bar, for walking, fighting, shooting... your horse also has one so no infinite gallop. If you hit stuff while galloping, you get thrown off. Which hurts, and leaves you injured.
- Wounds can make you bleed out.
- When you lie down to sleep, there is a meter that shows how much rest you get depending on where you are lying - based on how comfortable you are. So 'waiting' or resting out in a rainy forest does you about as much good as it would in rl.
- However, if you go to sleep in someone's house, they wake you up and ask you to leave.
- I saw some men in a quarry camp, queuing up to wash their faces in a water barrel.
Then they went off to work in the quarry.
- In the stats, there's a noise category
which changes depending on what you wear.
- There's also a hunger one. You have to eat.
- Bigger armour makes you more visible if your sneaking.
- Your clothes get dirty. If you want to impress someone or make a good impression, you need to go and wash.
- Maintaining weapons is a thing - using a grindstone minigame that improves, but can break your weapons if you're not careful.
- Alchemy is there too. Based on real medieval potions and salves. Collect, grind, cook and mix your own useful potions.
- You can sneak into an enemies camp, and poison their food prior to attacking them the next day.
- A historian was present as advisor for nearly every aspect of the game.
- There is no crosshair for archery. You learn how to aim. Also stamina controls how much you can draw a bow. The more you hold at full draw, the less accurate your shot.
- Night time is DARK. Like, stumble about in, out in the wild dark. Dawn, dusk, mist and rain also make travel difficult, but aid a stealthy recon of an enemy camp. So any lights, fires or torches really stand out.
- Heavy armour comes at a cost. It does protect you so much more; but a plate helm restricts your view. So you have to choose between limited view but not getting killed by a stray arrow; or lighter gear but the chance of being offed if someone stabs you in the back during a fight.
- The view is the pov where you can see your hands doing everything, like grinding herbs, putting stuff in pots etc. Not just a crosshair and click. When you lie down, you actually lie down sideways - not just a cut to dark, and then instantly awake standing where you were.
- The choices you make change the way people react to you, and alter the game path.
That will do for the minute, I'll add more as I think of them.
Oh yes and some of the best looking forests ever.

"Seven: Days Long Gone" an isometric stealth RPG from a bunch of ex-CDPRED devs is now on a 30% off sale on Steam and GOG.
It came out last year, and like most things gaming, passed me by, due to my AoK HD addiction phase.
Anyone played it? Was it any good?

I saw Seven's release trailer and put it on my wishlist but I think the developers are too much of an unknown and the reception too luke warm for me to buy it anything but a deep sale. Looks interesting though.

Spoiler
It's astonishing how realistically they caught the feel of Czech lands in that game, both in grander scheme and in detail
The forest looks exctly like the woods just short walk from my house
Actually, I took this shot a few kms from here, just compare it!

Looks OK. As long as it won't become a prolonged escort mission as the kid learns powers

I'm hoping the kid has to chill while he takes on his powers so Kratos (are you known as Kratos in this one?) can go on his own missions. The trailer suggests that the boy will be powerful though and will help with the battles that will confront them. It will probably work in some dynamic where the boy's smaller size is crucial in advancing past an area/boss.

So that Viking game I was playing got quite boring quite quickly. Similarly, I am a bit done with Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds for the time being... I am currently without a game to play. I am fairly sure I have got AC:Origins for my upcoming birthday but I'm a bit out of sorts.
On the plus side I am spending more free time writing. Which could be said is a more constructive use of my time...
