I ended up buying Horizon Zero Dawn on a black friday sale yesterday. In Norway, fuck that nonsense, we don't even have thanksgiving. ..Though I did buy, so I guess I am the problem.
Anyway, looking forwards to trying it out.

HZD is a beautiful game morgypoopoobooboo I just got burned out on combat. I will return one day. Should have an expansion out.
Enjoy, Its between Prey and Horizon for Game of the year. No question. They should just share it, than make a crossover game.

The first hour was pretty great, so I am looking forwards to the ride

Beautiful game. Also, well balanced - not too much stuff to collect, an interesting story, and a variety of ways of bringing down machines. The human camps are a bit weak, but the Cauldrons compensate nicely.
The contrast between cauldron tech and the wild landscape is my favourite aspect of the game.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

It's designed for co-op, which is why it's considered one of the low points of the series.
I picked up the whole C&C collection in an Origin sale a while back , b/c I never did finish C&C 3. Some day, if I ever beat my current addiction to AoK...

Stick with it because it only gets better and better. Especially as you move west to more desert like surroundings. And I agree with the sentiment that it should get game of the year.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you all know that The Game Awards will be aired live today. I believe this is the awards show that used air on Spike TV and has Geoff Keighley attached to it (and is the de facto video games award ceremony),
This link should have all the information (including where to watch). Yours. Best.

It's on during the night here in Denmark. I might just watch a recap tomorrow and watch the full thing saturday.
As the years have gone by, I've come to like this show less and less. It's entertaining, like the MTV Music/Movie Awards used to be in the 00s, but it's also devoid of any form of integrity.
Geoff Keighly, The Doritos Pope, has to be the snakiest journalist slithering around out there. The show is saturated with adverts and is mostly a PR platform for AAA games, which Keighly sells as a celebration of games for real gamers.
That yearly Kojima Circle Jerk has to be the most nepotistic thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what excuse they come up with for Keighley giving him an emotional hand job this time.

Damn. Harshin my high for what should be a somewhat entertaining couple of hours. I never said to take what it said as written in stone/the best games you should buy because they said so. Just watch (or not) to be entertained. Why does everything have to be outright "I hate this" or "I love this". Just enjoy, don't hate, celebrate and congratulate. Reminds me of the whole, "when I see Conan O'Brien I get physically ill" debate in the Lets Talk About Sex thread. Just enjoy man. And if Geoff Keighly turns your stomach that much, then don't watch, simple solution.
Other then that, they might show new footage of Red Dead Redemption 2. There's been some whisperings they just might.

Don't be absurd, Kazooie. If I can't find something to rag on, what reason is there to go on living?
Like I said, the show is entertaining. And there's usually a few new reveals and new trailers during the show. That's worth tuning in for alone.
I just have this strong counter-opinion of Kojima after both Sony and the Game Awards decided to try and elevate the man to something approaching sainthood, all while of course making themselves look great and getting those easy PR points.

oh, I agree with you for the most part. These "awards" shows are self serving opportunities to promote whatever they want. It's endemic for any award show now for the most part. I think one of the movie award shows is basically a two hour airing of future movie trailers with a traditional award show interspersed in between.
I'll probably try and catch it. Horizon Zero Dawn is nominated in a number of categories and I'm interested to see how it does.
Also, isn't there a video game awards show in Europe that is purely from developers, and so consequently holds more legitimate credence? And that it also acknowledges more of the indpendent titles and doesn't so much stroke the triple A titles like this one does. I don't think it is popularly known in the US.

Monster Hunter: World is January
and I believe Sea of Thieves is March
Those two and Farcry 5 are what I'm currently interested in.

Exodus is fall I believe.
God of War is supposed to be late March.
I can't recall, has Red Dead been pushed again or is it still slated for March?
