Gesler and Stormy are good characters too. There are a bunch of marines I guess that are interesting. It's always seemed to me, however, that the story of the marines has really always been Fiddler's story. He was the beginning of the BB's and the beginning of the BH's and his story just oozes soldierness. Unlike a lot of the others, he's just a man with a talent for surviving and knowing wtf is going on.

It probably matters on how far you've read, but seeing as how this is in the DoD section, Ive just finished DoD. Therefore anything from tCG hasnt influenced my opinions, yet. Although it seems some people did list a couple tCG scenes in reference.(which sucks cuz i havent read it)

Just started on DoD and got to say its nice to get back to the Bonehunter family. So I'm just gonna do a top 5 of the Bonehunters and even thats hard to do let alone a top five all time favourites.

Finally someone mentioned Bottle! Unless he's done something horrible in the last tenth of the saga that I haven't read yet, I don't see how can't you like the guy!

I was just going through this question on my own yesterday as I am coming near the end of DoD... who is in the end my favorite character from the series? And what actually the question means? The most likeable, the best-written or simply the one with wich I empathize the most? Probably a combination of the three so that I'm sticking with Bottle...

As for a tentative top 10, I'd go like this:

Top 4 are easy for me. Beyond that I like too many characters....

1. Cottillion - When I just imagine him dancing around, dismantling people with pure skill and grace as an assassin. Plus his personality is deep/complex.
2. Icarium - Such a nice guy when not in blood red rage mode. But when in that mode, good god, so powerful.
3. Bugg/Tehol - Hilarious. These two together, priceless.
4. Quickben - I'm always partial to the battle mage that progressively becomes more and more badass.

5. Topper/Cowl - I love the badass Mage/Assassins...love em.
6. Helian - One liners, I love drunk Helian!
7. Ublala - I want to sex her, can i? Can I sex you now?
8. Shadowthrone - Kind of the same reasons as QB. He's also somewhat funny.
9. Karsa - Yes, one dimensional, but that's what i like. Straight to the point. He's not going to trick you into fighting, he's just going to destroy you.
10. Rake - How can you not have him in your top10?
11. Gothos/Hood - Supreme power with a slight hint of madness...
12. IskralPust - Insane...ly funny
13. Telorast/Curdle - Comic relief...and hiding an insanely powerful past.
14. SegulehJan#2 - If not for Dassem, he'd be the best of the best...he fights as if in slow motion and dismantles the best Seguleh with a flick of his wrist.
15. Bottle - The next QB!
