(Jen'isand Rul, the Wanderer within the Sword)
'I am the Shield Anvil.' I am Fener's grief. I am the world's grief. And I will hold. I will hold it all, for we are not yet done. <Itkovian>
'We are not born innocent, simply unmeasured.' <Hull Beddict>
'Because a god visits her, Fist. He comes to break her heart. Again and again.'<Nether>
'Fucking dragon.' <Fiddler>
Take my breath. But not this one, not this one. <Apsalar>
'Aye.' It's a good word. I think. More a whole attitude than a word, really. With lots of meaning in it, too. A bit of 'yes' and a bit of 'well fuck' and maybe some 'we're all in this together.' So a word to some up the Malazans. <Sunrise>

Ohhhhhhhhh. Well in that case, I dunno, I like them all. Right now I'll say Udinaas, Mappo, Karsa, Duiker, and Fiddler.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

1)Kallor. He's the King. Pardon, the High King.
2)Bugg/Mael. Hilarius and freakingly powerful. A dangerous mix.
3)Cotillion. He's the best assassin out there but also a complex and interesting character.
4)Iskaral Pust. He's way better than Kruppee, of course.
5)Quick Ben. A mage with twelve souls who like to mess with gods. What's not to like.

Also: Best character who I couldn't stand at first but really liked in the other books.

A standstill between Rhulad and Udinaas. Rhulad in RG became probably the most sympatetic "villain" I've ever read, while Udinaas simpply became a great character in RG.

Honorable mention to: Shadowthrone, Kruppee, Fiddler, Bauchelain and Korbal Broach, Icarium, Toc, Tehol, the Ceda

1. Hellian- simply the best monologues, one-liners and point of view.
2. Envy- I love her personality, am jealous of Fisher Kel Tath, the bastard
3. Corabb- "Leoman's balls!"
4. Antsy- I can just imagine his russet mustache twitching
5. Ublala- Manhunt? She's got tits and stuff. The Patriotists are idiots! Bwahahaha!
"Ah, she has roe. Delicious."

In no particular order:

Karsa, Witness!
Quick Ben, for the sheer fact that he enjoys messing around with gods and he is insanely powerful due to the dozen souls he has
Bugg, the comedic chicken collecting god
Hellian, a drunk marine who led the Bonehunters to victory in RG one pub at a time
Cotillion, very interesting character

Honourable mentions: Dassem Ultor, Iskaral Pust, Rake, WhiskeyJack, Trull
"Couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo" - Billy Connely

"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women." - BH

1) Cotillion - Most of the time I can't even say why I just love every scene he's in.

2) Whiskyjack - And by extension pretty much every Bridgeburner.

3)Bugg/Tehol/Brys - It's not cheating cause they know each other.

4)Hellian - For teaching me how countries should be invaded.

5) Fiddler - You can't keep a good man down. Plus i'm not that fond of dragons either.

Rallick Nom, Crokus and Toc where my favorite characters from the first book so they kind of stick in my mind as well. Also hero worship crump ever since his observations on falling ice. Ah, I forgot Itkovian Trull and Onrack, Sorry, Quick Ben and Kalam.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

1. Toc the Younger
2. Cotillion
3. Mael
4. Quick Ben
5. Hood
Lives and loves, the gamut of existence was marked by such things. A breaking of paths, the ragged, uneven ever-forward stumble. Blood dried, eventually. Turned to dust. The corpses of kings were laid down and sealed in darkness and set away, to be forgotten. Graves were dug for fallen soldiers, vast pits like mouths in the earth, opened in hunger, and all the bodies were tumbled down, each exhaling a last gasp of lime dust. Survivors grieved, for a time, and looked upon empty rooms and empty beds, the scattering of possessions no-one possessed any longer, and wondered what was to come, what would be written anew on the wiped-clean slate. Wondering, how can I go on?

You could have kept the part you edited out, you know, it's in the right forum.

I wasn't sure I used the correct term. So, I just edited it out.
