The game isn't set up for a non spam start really. It does make it annoying when you try and go back and do a reread on someone though.

For sure...
Tell me...in the last spycraft games.
Did scum also level up?
Do you think they level up in this one?

Everyone leveled up, scum and non scum. So I imagine the same happens here. Otherwise it would be completely inbalanced.

Everyone leveled up, but not everyone received an upgrade at that level. I know in my one, I got nothing at a couple of the levels (1 and 5, I think). So in some instances, some scum might not get any new abilities or upgrades. For all intents and purposes though, it's best to assume they do.

Whoever said I should read through the last 7 pr 8 pages, I hate you.
A couple things,
Last game there was definitly proper symps in the game. One of the people who CFed as being French, as someone correctly pointed out as Bwgan/The Temptress, they were working for the scum. So we should expect the same in this game.
Also last game, we got no NKs because the killer hit a BP every night for the first 3 nights. I doubt we will as lucky this time but you never know.
Thirdly.. where the hell are the scenes Mods? They were awesome in the first game, and I demand you do some for this game!

Aside the massive cross post fail about scenes, I think in the last game some syndicate members had the ability to appear as spies upon CF.
Yeah well I was refering to the arrival scenes... I don't recall any syndicate members appearing as Spies upon CF, but maybe because we had a finder done on them. Who wants to brave Venges Game 1 Spam to find out?

There were two CF-disguising abilities in Spycraft from what I can see (and remember). Both Russian.
Quote
Grischa Timkov – Assassin (Russian) -- Syndicate
...
Level 2:
Consummate Liar: passive. You come up as a spy on finds/CF instead of Syndicate.

Dmitri Subarenko – Impersonator (Russian) -- Spy
Chameleon: passive. You show up as the same nationality as the player who investigated you on finds, with the following names: Dmitri Subarenko for Russians, Didier St.Roux for the French, Darren Stub for the Americans, Damian Thursday for the British. Finds by Syndicate players, if any, are shown as per the nationality of the investigator. You learn the nationality of the player who investigated you. Abilities that only apply to players of a certain nationality, apply to you as well. On CF, you will appear with all 4 names. Your Russian teammates will be informed by mods that a member of their team died.

That one (Korv's) had us scratching our heads in confusion for days.

As to what we should be doing, this is still a scum vs town game right? For me, I think we should be doing everything we would normally do to find the scum in a traditional game. Its always difficult to find scum normally, and if we are going to be playing around trying to stop one town faction or another and not concentrate on the scum then its going to be that much harder. No town faction wins if the scum wins.
Which is what (most?) people have been saying. Most VCs have to with actions rather than thread-related stuff like lynches and votes (bar the Chinese), so lynching does nothing to hamper anyone, except scum. They would love nothing more than for us to not lynch, as it allows them to hide much more easily in the scenes and on thread. I don't think anyone has been advocating no lynches at all though, just for today. Tellann was right on the money though. Because the scenes are so cryptic (case in point, first set of scenes up-thread), if there is no lynch and no death tonight (which is a good result but uninformative), we're right back where we were yesterday. Day 1 lynches are notorious for being not friendly to noobs and being wrong. As in most games though, it is better to shoulder the risk at this stage.
Fucked if I know who to lynch though.
EDIT - fixed the last set of brackets for clarity

So are you saying you don't want us to lynch today? Or you don't care?

I am? Sweet!
The scene is incredibly cryptic, I'm still trying to figure out if it's talking about the same guy in both paragraphs.

No, I'm saying that I think we should lynch today. Since (I assume) most people are unaware of the composition of their own and others' teams, a lynch becomes less of a faction play and more of a town-scum deal, and we don't want to end up in the same position tomorrow as we were today (read: with jack shit info). The only valid reason to not want a lynch is to avoid hitting your own team. That's an ever-present risk anyway though, and the odds are slight in any case.
