I've been thinking about what I would have done if my trip had been ending just around the time the volcano blew. Keep bumming around Britain in hostels, maybe abusing the hospitality of my fellow Malazanites until the planes started flying again.

Or scrambling south to France or somewhere else to get a flight.

Hmm, I think more drinking with forum members would have been the solution.

So when's the air force gonna nuke the Cloud? Come on, people, we know it's what they always to do. Ever since the kraken expired five minutes after it began it's attack on a backwards town, the air force is itching to mount another giant head next to godzilla's. Too bad the Cloud doesn't have a head.

Shit, you're right. All the air forces are down in Europe but Iceland can still launch an air armada at us (flying above the Cloud and dropping bombs). This is it. Iceland is finally ready to launch it's assault and take over the world. Vikings with poor direction sense they may be but apparently they are still vikings.

Because going on strike is a French national passtime.

They're running tommorow, but Eurostar is fully booked out, so I can't leave then.

Remember a few weeks ago, when Iceland was in the news for not paying back the British and Dutch for their bank bailout? The British wanted cash. All they got is ash. It's pretty clear: don't mess with the vikings. Their debt is about 5 or 6 billion? Last week, the airline industries alone lost about 1 billion. And that was due to a small volcano. I think at this time, it's not worth it any more. The Brits should just cut their losses and hope Iceland starts behaving again.
