Since we're all fantasy book nerds, I assume some of you have a stash of swords, axes, knives and other assorted goodies.
What's in your weapons stash? Somehow I picture Gothos with throwing axes, RodeoRanch with 19th century bowie knives and Bent with....steak knives.

I've got a 300 year old Japanese sword. An indonesian short sword, some middle eastern daggers, a WWII era US Marines knife and dress uniform dagger. Also a short spear from Africa.
The first I bought myself. The others I inherited from my grandfather (the dates of the spear/swortsword/daggers are unknown, but 19th century at least).

Ha, not here.
Just pellet guns for me. Low powered ones so I don't need a gun license.
And a few camping knives.

I have somewhere in the order of a hundred or so blades, mostly swords and knives. I have about half of the Kit Rae collection, working on getting the rest, the older ones are tough to find at a reasonable price.

While I appreciate the sentiment, Shin, and I surely would love some axes - though regular ones, not throwing - I must sadly admit that my arsenal is limited to a pretty big kitchen knife.

Golf Clubs, fists, hair pulling and harsh language.
I've got an air pistol somewhere but calling it a weapon would be pushing it. I can understand owning a knife for work/outdoor activities and I can see the decorative qualities of a well made blade, but I'm always puzzled as to the appeal of owning weapons.
Anyone want to expand on why they have them too, it'd be interesting and save me making my usual, glib 'I'm quite happy with the size of my penis' etc comment.

You don't need a weapon to feel better about yourself. Knives are just awesome because they're shiny, sharp, look nice(depending on the design), sharp, make a nice 'whoosh' sound, and they're sharp!

@Cougar, well, most of my collection was inherited, so that's why I have them. The Japanese sword was because my sensei encouraged me to get it. However, I'm still too petrified to try to use it for actual iaijutsu training, since the threat of losing fingers is all to real.

I've got a 22 caliber rifle kicking around here somewhere. I don't think I even have any ammunition for it.
I have it because when I used to live in the country...wel, further in the country...it was handy to have around to scare off coyotes and other pests. Had to shoot a porcupine that had taken up residence under the house.
I don't like guns but they are occasionally useful.
And some big knives here and there.

All I have is some hunting knives from when I lived in Oregon and hunted occasionally. The hunting knives are kept in the closet so as to give quick access in case of a night time break in... Or so the wife can skin me if I get out of line. Which ever comes first...

I've got a "medium length" rusty old iron bar standing by my door way.
I doubt I'll ever need it, but there's something comforting about having a nice blunt object nearby in case the Jehovas witnesses get belligerent.
I also have a Leatherman tool, but that's less frightening than a kitchen knife.

I have a blacksmith friend who is making me a sword after I gave him money to help him and his fiance sort out their flat when they moved upcountry. It's going to come in handy when the chav zombie apocalypse hits.

I'd like to own a cold steel shovel... just for the fun of it. I have no idea what I'd use it for though, besides gardning work once a year. Maybe just have it lying around and pull it out when I have drunk friends around and probably hurt somebody with it

The one he's using in this video is not very sharp. I saw a video a while ago with a guy who honed the edges until they were razor sharp, carried it around with its own leather sheath. So awesome.
