Malazan BBQ The Fourth

You can make me a definite. I shall go to the ball (I mean BBQ)
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. That fine specimen of Welsh ladies was no more than a hard-used 65. Maybe 70. Rode hard and put away wet, as it were. She wanted to party with us. Particularly me. I blame masan's saddle for it all.
You can blame me for getting you drunk.
You cannot however blame me for the way you shamelessly pursued and attempted to seduce that poor defenceless geriatric. Poor old dear probably thought it was the second world war all over again and she was going to get ravaged by some dashing colonial soldier, come to save her from the nazi's.
Either that or she thought you were going to pinch her bingo winnings.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

I really wish I'd taken a photo of her to treasure during all those cold winter nights.

Did you start this thread earlier this year Hetan or am I just getting old and time is no longer as long as it used to be?
Me and Mrs Paleman should have moved to Bury St Edmunds by then so that makes our train journey to Cambridge 15 minutes longer or thereabouts but as we both enjoy these gatherings so much I would like to say a bigantic HELL YEAH! to us being in attendance for the fourth year running.
Can't wait to see so many familiar faces again and meet a few new likeminded individuals too. Onwards and Upwards.

Now come on - I know you all had a mouthfull
But if Paleman is moving he might not be able to get to the sausage shop any more which would make me sad.. that and the chilli jam which was also yummy.

I will do my best to bring my mighty sausage and everyone is more than welcome to have a mouthful or two (Mrs Paleman will gladly allow me to share). We've already found a South African stall at the Bury St Edmunds market that sells all sorts of meat products so we will hopefully be able to get some spicy boerwoers for everyone to try.

Do it! You could get sponsors, and use it to buy steaks
And by the time I get there the steaks will have become biltong. Will work out great!
Edit - I see Mr & Mrs Paleman will be bringing biltong, guess I'm just going to have to give it a skip then

Have added to my outlook calendar so will hopefully be there again. This year will be a month after our trip to Islay (7 distilleries, don't you know) so you may find me donating something alcoholic and peaty.

Anomander,
I dunno really about where you live, but if it's close to the Toronto Area, or southern ontario at all, from what I've heard in the summer Hamilton Airport has flights to and from the UK and they are relatively cheap. They are your typical crammed airbusses, but I think the price is right, I dunno though, worth a look...
