So while moving I was going through my games that have been on my shelf for years, and I realized I have FF10. I am also unable to remember anything, at all, about it. I can remember 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, but not 10. Did I ever play it? Do I not remember it because it was terrible?
Was FF10 good? Should I throw that thing in and play it?

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

It has it's bad sides, true enough, but... Auron makes up for it. It's actually not that bad. Pretty good to be honest. It's not like wanting to rip off the heads of half the party characters has made the other FF games bad. It comes with the series.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

FFX is one of the greatest games I have ever plaid. The FMVs for its time were superb. Story is solid and I enjoy the turn based battles. Play it now.

Oh, I did like the battle system, and the sphere grid. I just can't ever play again because both the voiceacting and every single character that isn't Auron, playable or otherwise, make me bleed from all of my orifices.

Being able to switch all of your characters out at will, combined with the absurdly OP everything, made the battles essentially fight themselves.

Untill you run into Karma attacks. My characters had killed so many creatures that it was an instant kill to be hit by karma. Also my friend and I now use the word evrae as a verb. We played for thirty or so hours hopped onto an airship to go save a team member and were than stuck fighting this monster. We simply could not beat it. We had gone to soon and relied on our missing team member as part of our go to party team that we were simply incapable of fighting it. Had to restart. This is now known as being evraed whether it happens in games or real life.
Also got our assess handed to us the first time we visited the omega ruins. The story quests are not always impossible but to earn some real bonus items the side quests were beats.

I'm stuck on the dark aeons. I have no idea how levelled up you need to be for them, but much higher than my party!
Still need to get Lulu's bloody ultimate weapon too. That lightning dodging is so frustrating, I got up to about 170 once, took about half an hour. I was so pissed off after that.

You can pause on the lightning dodging and it'll still count, cheesing the Dark Aeons and Penance with paying a full Overdrive bar'd Yojimbo around 54k was hilarious (stop me getting that worthless item in Beginner Island, will you?!), and casting Reflect on Evrae and then wailing on him with physical attackers while it keeps trying to cast Haste on itself but buffing your party instead was sweet revenge. Also you kind of need Rikku using Al Bhed Poitons for healing during that section of the game, but you know that.

As far as I noticed I was just as likely to get Yojimbos super move with 1 gil as I was ten thousand. Never understood it.

It depends on how much it likes you, if it has a full overdrive bar, what you're fighting and how much you give it. I had gil to spare and 54k on a full overdrive guaranteed the instadeath move against everything.

Oh, I do have to say thanks for your 'Weakness to (Element) 100%, (Element) Damage Fucktonne of Points over X Seconds on Touch' spell suggestion from one of the Elder Scrolls threads, I've been replaying Morrowind as a magic character (my usual method is Daedric Battle Axe and left click) and that is, was and has been extremely useful. Except on Daedra. Stupid 20% Reflect chance bastards. Still, I'm moments away from 100% Fire Resist so it'll be all fun and games from that point on.

Speaking of Morrowind, just bought vvardenfell.com last night and I'll be using it to host game diaries, Not too sure how to go about it yet. House Telvaani quests are good fun, as are their crazy mushroom houses.
Still on my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2, it's good so far, though some of the characters need to die already, almost as annoying as FF characters.

I can never get over my love of Morrowind...I find that every few months or so I'm back to playing it. All of the player mods really help add some spice to things as well, although it becomes a real pain in the ass when they start conflicting or textures go missing and you have sort through hundreds/thousands of files.
I'm sure you've tried Tamriel rebuilt? That mod is amazing, I can't wait until they actually complete the entire mainland (not for a few more years, but oh well, I'll still be playing Morrowind). They've got the first map, completed with quests and everything, out now, and the second one out without quests. If you don't know what it is, they're basically making the entire Morrowind mainland that surrounds Vvardenfell.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

And yes, Morrowind continues to be a stellar game, kept afloat after so long by user made modifications. Ah, good times. Tamriel Rebuilt I'm saving until it's all done. Want the whole experience together. XD

It's another proof that leaving modding doors open for fans is the best way to go - keep your game alive for years after everything's said and done...

Doesn't help sales, though, really. Perhaps initial outlay is higher in moddable games, though...yeah, it would only work with a game that has had mods previously. That way people expect it - if you don't have it, it will hurt sales, but if it's a new product then no extra sales will likely arise.
