Well, this is pretty much a locked up scum win.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

What's with the level of insults in this game? I know we have the occasional blowup, but I was shocked when I read through the first few days...

I called D'riss as scum before I got into spoilers...didn't manage to tag Fener though :veryangry:. Looks like a pretty easy scum win, aided by some lackadaisical inno play (apart from DkT, who has been doing his best to drag the thread forwards to no avail).

Also, I think part of the reason we're having such trouble with inactivity is the length of the days. 24 hours isn't long enough - you get a lot of people who can only be on for one window per day, and if that's at the start of the 24 hours they're screwed. Seems like people are getting a "We're running out of time, wish we'd got more from X" reaction too much. I hereby petition that we make day lengths longer in the future. I'm certainly not playing in anything with a day length under 36 hours from now on, I don't have the time for anything faster.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

I don't think I've ever been so sure someone was scum as I was sure Fener was in this game. If I they hadn't killed my I would have tried to get him lynched. Meh.

@ST This one is 30 hours, not 24. If you ask me, the long days actually make people lacadasical (sp?). People gotta use their time wisely and actually post when they're on (and not just push it off until later). Although you are right, some people probably do only have 1 window to post, and if that's at the beginning they're screwed. That's why the 30 hours should be ideal.

@Gem

I wish you had been more active and pushed Fener. You were right on, but just not enough of a presence for anyone to pay attention to you.

Some people post more than others as players, as well. I am anathema to low-posting. I just can't fucking do it. I've tried.

Also, maybe I'm wrong, but RP at least gets people INVOLVED in the game at the beginning.

Those are my thoughts.

Read them and weep at the glory of my wisdom.

Why aren't you playing HD? :p

You in the next game?

This has been good practice for modding, but I'm ready to play again.

I also wish I had spent more than 5 minutes writing each scene. :veryangry:

I play games where I know I'll have time, and that pique my interest. And, my interest is usually piqued by interesting topics for RP or cool mechanics which usually equates to TMDI stuff.

It's the one thing I hate about mafia, that one has to shove long blabbing cases down people's throats. I think I am getting tired - I think I'll take a break from playing.

I'd definitely agree this is the case at times. But, more and more I'm coming to find "long quote cases" subject. What they are is easy bate material for votes, and lazy votes often aggregate to them because they seem legit. Long quote cases vs. long quote cases are pretty entertaining because in the end they are pretty much b.s. v. b.s.

I enjoy random: "I vote X because of X and gut." Usually good fodder from that.

I would say that the problem is lazy votes. If people actually thought about their votes and did them for a reason, it would work out.

I'm coming to believe that there are some really clever ways to play as an inno, but people are too lazy to do them. It's too easy to think "well, i don't have a role so I don't have any info" and then become sheeple.

Actually, modding this game has given me a couple of ideas of how to RI the next time I play.

(And no, I'm not going to share them since that would clue potential future scum in to what I'm thinking)

I agree. For all his lashing about, he's lashing the wrong people, unfortunately for him.

Even the Fener alt didn't prevent Bent from pulling the wool over everyone's eyes.

Listen to paranoia dk, listen to paranoia

Quote

Looks like the innos are fucked.

Most everyone is looking at me....there is nothing ACTUALLY that i can defend against.

Its a real strange day...all mostly based on feelings and no real cases.
Besides shadows but its a nothing case...makes no sense.

Ive answered and he will just come back answer right back again spouting his nonsense,
Its up to the other inno's now to sift through the bullshit.
Im in a hole i cant digg out of without looking more and more desperate.

Kalse's vote is weird i could see him being scum with any number of players too.
Mayeb fener... i dunno the paranoia is kicking in.

Not everyone, I pretty much spotted him on the first read. Yes, I am going to keep throwing that in people's faces.

QFT

Venge used to excel at these. it's how i'd spot him in every game we played.

and every time I was under pressure as scum, I'd spew forth a thrre-post long case, totalling everything a player has said since the ga,me started. and peole would go and say "hmm, if he put so much effort into it, there must be something to it", and not vote me off.

For the record, if it happens (which I doubt) and it comes down to dk and a single killer, it will be a killer victory. If Ikumatsu has no ronin of Choshu to support her anymore, she has no reason to live.

1 vs 1 will resulte in a scum victory.

I allowed dk to heal himself because it 1) made sense for the role 2) potentially gave innos a little more help (just a little) since there is no finder in this M&P.

If anyone has a problem with this, too bad. :veryangry:

I nominate dkt as man of the match. He's being outplayed and outsmarted by the scum, but from what I see, he is one of the few inno's to try.

Read the thread now Tapper. He's pulling it together finally. He's spot on with his NK analysis and he's now putting D'riss and Fener together. (wow!)

He has his work cut out for him convincing Shadow and Spite though.

Bent wants to make sure things are all sewn up. Although I think The Dude can handle himself if he showed up on thread.

Quote

If you get on, hide. Spite may get tired of me and Oss bickering and drop a Shadow vote.

I may push Shadow into an Oss vote (not sure, they had alot of time alone)

I might get Fener to drop a vote on Shadow (but looking less likely)

As long as you stay hidden they cant start in on you. I might get caught by over reacting (but Im Bent, its expected when I am inno, so I gotta do this)

Anyway, please dont post right away, I want an ace in the hole if a vote does fall.

Bent feels last day pressure, not to mention dk getting it right now.

Quote

Fucks sake - DK is all over my ass. I really could use some shadow or spite support right now! If things get hairy and a vote falls on me - Driss you better get on that train - hell I will self vote immediately to keep them from getting any info. This is all redundant if I keep punching at DK. and he folds, lol Just last day jitters.

And dk's thoughts on the standoff

Quote

Fener cant be so sure.

He cant be such an arrogant prick?...as an inno have an attitude like that?

Ive thrown the gauntlet down
Mexican stand off shit...i think if he is scum he will vote after i have provoked him now.
As an inno i would think twice and maybe calm donw and rethink things.

If he is scum...the other inno's will not jump on immediately and we can maybe save this game.

Fucking hell on a shit stick ...this is intense!!
