Fuck the bookforums. I won't get specific.
I don't know if the Malazan books have changed or just my reading preferences. They've always been weighty tomes of action, humor and pathos. But I've found that SE's books since Bonehunters just weigh far too much in the pathos part of the scale. It's just so boring and irritating for me. It sucks because I still really really enjoy the parts that I like. But the parts I dislike have become more prevalent.
That said, I'm still a fan and will be buying many more Malazan books as they come out.
I finally have "Dust of Dreams" But I can't read it.

If it helps, considering how DOD contains the pathos for both itself and the next book, you're probably going to enjoy TCG enough to grind it up and snort it.
