I thought SE couldn't get any more amazing. Then I read the blog... wow.
I will feel so ashamed now whenever I skim a single line. The insight on writing is very much appreciated.

Anyone know if SE is done with the Life as a Human blogging, or is there more to come?

That was really interesting. Thanks for pointing to it, Hetan I was just beginning to wonder whether there'll be another installment in the blog. I always end up having learned something when reading these entries.

Very interesting stuff. I am tempted to try out the exercise just to see what it can produce. I've written short pieces here and there before but never with anything but raw instinctual bursts of story. He truly is an inspiring individual that Mr.Erikson.

Do you think there is any extra significance to it being posted on April 1st?

Thanks for linking, kcf
As usual, I come out of reading one of these entries strangely.. happy and feeling somewhat more educated, shaking my head at SE's ability to put all of this into words and make it sound interesting and.. honest.
Especially in the later books I often felt that the characterization was amazing while we rarely - if ever, I honestly can't remember any scene - get told what the character's feeling - rather, we get shown. It makes me kind of happy to 'see' a character's gestures and imagine the tone of the dialogue and being able to 'understand' in spite of not being 'told' about it. It's part of the pleasure of reading for me. Cue a certain author who just up and shows us that it's not just me imagining things but intentionally done.
..yeah, I'm done fangirling now^^

Cool, I'm looking forward to reading the deconstruction. Any idea when it will be up?

Wow.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
