Morgalain thinks army size = number of players in faction.
Uh, no? It could be 2 factions right now: You as one and the other 13 players as another. And every player would have an army size of 1. I don't think you get this.
Korvalain, on 09 February 2010 - 10:13 PM, said:
since we all start at 1? .. then that would mean future teams are purely based on chance. Technically no one has a faction yet.. hmpf, that certainly makes it easier to pick out the non-faction leader. Or one would think so at any rate.
So, even though I know I'm going to regret this, I've been away from active gaming for too long to just trust my gut. Exchange Tulas Shorn for Ruse if you'd please.

FLAGGED FOR D'REK'S ATTENTION:
You ask to recruit alt names, don't worry about that.
I'll leave the explaining of that particularly clause to D'rek though, since I'm not 100% certain about it myself.

OK, so I've killed Anomandaris and started a new day, and sent PMs to Ruse and Tulas Shorn as per the templates. I also sent PMs to Okaros and Korvalain to inform them of their success. I wasn't sure quite how much information to put in those though, so you might want to double check them. Have yet to update any of the early posts in SH though, I'll leave that to you.

You are now Zhao Fan - Yang Feng is dead. I will leave it to D'rek to give you a nice bio and everything - she's the Rot3K expert. You have lost all abilities you used to possess, and are now limited to guarding every night. The geographical restrictions are just the wording - you may guard anyone you want.

Thanks a ton ST. I think I'll work my way through this chronologically. My response to Tennes is below, and the army size one I'll just answer in-thread (answer: yes we should tell them when their army size changes).
The only slip-up you had ST (and there's no way you'd have known this since I didn't specify anywhere) was to say who the previous officers of Ruse and Tulas was to their new faction leaders. Luckily, neither Alt or Morgoth had read those PMs yet so I edited it out. All is well!
You ask to recruit alt names, don't worry about that.
I'll leave the explaining of that particularly clause to D'rek though, since I'm not 100% certain about it myself.
Sir Thursday
D'rek here.
All the targets of all of your actions are indicated by their alt name, which is the same as their army name (ie Mockra, Emurlahn, etc.).
For the directive ability, when it is not upgraded, you specify an alt and it is sent to that player. For the upgraded version, however, you send the message to PS and it is automatically given to all your subordinates. The "not be told who they are" bit, means that you will not get a list back saying "the message was sent to Mockra, Emurlahn, Tellan and Barghast" or anything like that.
Hope that helps.

Lastly, I'm retconning a wee bit in that instead of Ruse becoming Zhao Fan, he'll be Huang Zhong instead. I had written to use Zhao Fan with Han Xuan if necessary, but using inactive faction leaders as subordinates will just be too much crazybrainz for them I think so I am only going to merge subordinates if necessary but not use inactive faction leaders. I told Ruse about it and well I guess he'll know there is no Zhao Fan, but there's still 29 he don't know about so no big whoop.

I've been waiting for the star trek game to bite me in the arse.
Gods this is where I sometimes miss modcraft, I might have survived day 1 there. Whether because people will be wondering I'm sort of jester or they are not on until night is debatable.
My view I rather have fun than lurk.
My attitude is if you don't have a faction leader you don't need to include in your reasoning for lynching he is not my faction leader.

Alt vote on me clearly shows he a faction leader.
Just the way he had worded it was so bloody cautious and covering the bases. My idea was to be brazen and so suicidal that there was no way I could be a faction leader I forgot that you guys love to lynch me over a fire and I gave you the wood.

So technically then I'm the cultist of this game? or at least 1 cultist faction, Lu Bu seems to be considered a loner after all. On day 1 I was a faction of 1 whereas now Ive got the guard Tulas Shorn (presumably with an army size of 1) in my faction? Making us a faction of 2 so far.
Correct?
eventually I'll have to get it right

Yeah, pretty much. On day 1 you were a faction of one player (you) wtih an army size of 1.
Now it is day 2 and your faction has two players, you (who has an army size of 2) and Tulas Shorn (who you don't know the army size of)

Every time you recruit successfully you'll be told, and you did not have any followers at the start. You will not acquire any new followers other than by recruiting. And that's about all I'm going to say on that (but you can probably figure it out).

Okaros with some thoughts, and a provisional on Meanas:
Ah yes, forgot to talk about that earlier (knew I was forgetting something). Anyhoo, your army size is only increased by your primary action - recruit. The others are secondary and don't affect your army size. Sorry.

Couple of things for spoilers.
Firstly to Ruse - I'm know it sucks to be recruited into a faction who's leader is under pressure, so thanks for the sweet-ass symping there, hopefully I'll survive yet. Otherwise, sorry for pretty much destroying your chances of winning this game.
Hmm, think it's time for a provisional. Ideally I want to recruit someone who's been heading up the train against me. Tulas would be a good choice, but I have a sneaky suspiscion that he's a tactical sub and put a find on me last night. Which would leave him with an army size of two, so my action would fail. Which is something I can't afford by now, I need to get into the realm of multiple actions per night as quick as possible, so my army size can really explode. (I'm assuming here that you get a point per successful NA, rather than one point if any NA is successful).
With that in mind I think I'm going to attempt to recruit Meanas, and that he is magically transformed into a tactical subordinate in the process.
