New Predators movie info With pics !

I must admit to being a complete mug for all things Predator, i'd watch a bunch of them knitting if I had to, sad but true.
I'm hoping with the inclusion of Brodie and Trejo, and the hinted at twist involving Fishburn's character, this movie may revive the franchise a bit. We will have to wait and see. It may well suck massive balls, but I don't think it can possibly be as bad as Requiem.
Also Predator 2 wasn't that bad, granted Danny Glover was a bit of a gimmer of an action hero, but the film itself stands up well against some of the big budget CGI crap that i've seen lately.

To be honest I found AVP:R to be good, simply for the return to gore and the Disc Scene where the girl gets nailed to the wall and cut in half was just great.

Pred 2 wasn't bad at all. Not as epic as Pred 1 but good fun.
AVP:R... feh.
Here's the thing about the Preds as a brand - if you've read the comics, you can see how there is rom for some interesting developemt... look at why they hunt (honour, darwinism, mating rights... whatever), look at what it takes to keep up with them (the thoroughly awesome ninja lady from various LS and books), look at some different times and places where they may have popped up (there was an almost throwaway scene in an LS to a Pred hunting in the trenches in WW1 that was just plain cool in concept). One of the comics had a pred female that was bigger and badder than any male seen to that point.
So the concept had legs, but Hollywood doesn't do concept. It does flash and CGI and sfx. But two of the neatest things about the preds come from looking beyond the 'we hunt and shine skulls thing'... it was the self-destruct in the two flics, and the scene at the end of the second one with the trophies, including throwing an old powder gun to Danny because he won.
Anyrate, Hollywood has always lived down to my expectations but the concept at least had potential.
But i don't think this movie will get into any of that.

Yeah, that was the best scene in that movie by far. Very cool (and the Alien skull on the wall of trophies is the reason the whole AvP thing got started back in the Dark Horse comics to begin with.

Yep. And the first Darkhorse LS did some neat things with the idea, having Preds seed a world with aliens for a first hunt for novices, not knowing there was a human colony there, the humans interfere, the novices start killing and the aliens get out of control and the humans are stuck in the middle and then you have a ninja lady for good measure... it's good fun and both/all races have a chance to shine.
Then came AVP with its incredible maze o tricks.

I actually preferred the second one. The first Predator movie annoyed me - Billy should have survived or at least lasted longer as he knew what it was - following the mythos in the comic, the Predatory would have fought him un-camoflaged.
It was just an Arnuld vehicle really.

Do we definitely know that the pred fought Billy while camoflaged? From what I remember, you see that fight (ok, not fight, but that's the last you see of Billy) from the pred's POV, not Billy's... so maybe he wasn't camoflaged.
I also prefer 2 to 1, but 1 was still cool as fuck. It was a nice touch to not see Billy die, just hear his scream

It was a nice 'You. Shall not. Pass." moment tho'.
The only thing that really bugged me in 1 was how the shoulder cannon blew up everyone else but when it shot Ahnuld it just passed thru his shoulder or something. 2 was fun and actually did a lot of neat stuff with the bigger picture, in terms of the gov knowing they have been around for centuries and the 'won't kill a pregnant woman' thing.

Yeh, just after Billy gets waxed the other 3 are trying to " GET TO THE CHOPPER", Dutch and Anna are carrying Poncho when the pred pops up and blows Poncho's face off. Dutch pushes Anna out of the way "RUUUUUUUN" and takes a cannon lash to his upper chest/ shoulder....with no apparent effect other than to make him groggy. It's a bit of a continuity fail considering what it did to Blain's chest, unless maybe the shoulder canon thing has different settings. Maybe the pred really covets Arnie's skull and doesn't want to damage it, or perhaps (after Billy's brave display) he would rather take Arnie on Predo e mano. Who knows, I quite like the idea of a stun setting on the shoulder canon, seems plausible.

I hadn't noticed that the title was predators plural. Sort of implies that there is layers to the story. Multiple predators, but there's also that spiked creature and the soldiers themselves can be seen as predators.
I wonder what is up with that bad ass alien dog thing they showed an image off. Is it some kind of hound of the predators that help them hunt? Or maybe a priced kind of prey that is especially challenging for the predators.

Apparently, according to the concept art labels, it is a kind of Predator Hound. So some kind of aide in the hunt, then. Also apparently the Predators in the movie are different to what we've seen, which might explain why they'd even consider some kind of aid like that.

We have a foxy chick sniper/ assassin, a blade wielding yakuza enforcer, a Mexican drug cartel enforcer, a mass murdering psycho, a crazy Russian with a chain canon and Predators with dogs.
This could be the biggest Piece of Shit TM ever and still never fail.
