Mistborn Movie? I am conflicted

So, on Brandon Sanderson's blog,( http://www.brandonsa...born-Movie-News ) he has made it known that there is a possibility of a Mistborn movie.
On one hand, it will be interesting to see Allomancy, Feruchemy, and Hemalurgy in action, but on the other I don't know how well plot twists and whatnot will work in the movie medium. I feel like they'll come off as cheesy.

I'm also pretty undecided on this. It could be very good or shockingly cheesy. From the sounds of it though Sanderson is going to have a hand in what happens and the people making the book are actually interested in the book itself. I shall be cautiously optimistic, but we will have to see.

Oh, I'm down. The battles would be fucking awesome. You don't necessarily have to go beyond the first book. Movie #1 would kick ass.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'd be worried about how they show the Allomancy being used. It's not like a golden shimmer appeared whenever an Allomancer did anything. I feel like it would just be all force-power-like with the Allomancers looking around and things happening when they squint in effort.

The Mistborn can see them in action though, right? I imagine it'd take a lot of dialogue (or a F****** Montage TM, Team America) setting up the major action sequences.

Burning Ferric metals gives the users visions of thin blue lines connected to the metal around them if irc and they can put in subtle visual cues for the others, just hang a lamp that seekers also gets visual cues when they use their power.

I had forgotten about the blue lines. You're right. I guess for metals like tin and pewter they could just use clues left my dialogue and action to show the viewer what's going on. Tineyes commenting on something so far away no one else present could see, or a Pewterarm demolishing a wall. Atium, Gold, etc. all have shadow images or visions, so that'd be doable and I guess more character clues to hint about Seekers, duralumin and whatnot.
I had forgotten about those blue lines. I am now suddenly more optimistic.

They could do all of them visually without being cheesy I think. Rioters and Soothers would prob need subtle camerawork and editing to convey how the target's emotions are being manipulated, but that would be the hardest to carry across. The others would all be pretty easy to show. If it's done subtely enough it should be pretty cool visually at least, the fights between the Mistborn will be pretty cool I think
