Prep'd the thread for Day 2 draw lists, but I know there are people who have 'standing lists' of cards to draw. The only lists I added were those explicitly requested for Day 2, standing lists are not indicated.

Thursday,

Are you going to inform everyone who is now sitting to their left/right?

- I put the last list everyone put on their action threads in the Draw lists, and am in the process of italicising what the current deal would be. If someone submits a new action, it'll need to be altered.

- Made a slight error in the draw :pirate:. Sent D'riss a PM saying he had the Target Finder card when in fact he should have had the Card Finder card. I didn't realise until I was about to resolve - held the resolution half an hour in the hopes he'd show and change it, but no luck. So to avoid confusion when reveals come out, I told Kalse that he should have received a Card Finder instead of a Target Finder (which didn't matter, since he was performing a kill instead). I told Silchas Ruin that Kalse got the Card Finder card.

- I had a slight dilemma, since I wasn't sure whether the Socialite or the Place Swap should happen first. Decided the Socialite happened first, and changed the seating order to reflect the changes.

- Haven't yet had the time to send messages telling everyone who is sitting next to them. If you're on again tonight, could you do this PB?

Cheers,

Sir Thursday

Cheers.

Now I'm off to bed. Hopefully Day 2 will bring more excitement than Day 1.

Sir Thursday

EDIT: Forgot to mention - because of the half hour delay while I waited for D'riss, the Mafia Manager clock is 30 minutes ahead of the actual time for today (as well as being a day out).

PB here to steward the game for the evening. I love the Consort pick from Ment, VERY strong early game. And I think Lokiman nabbing the thief early is extremely useful, as well, because EARLY game it's a lot harder to hit the bomber (although late game, it may be less likely that someone even takes the bomber).

So I assume the players will get their cards today (Day 1) at some point after all players have finished submitting lists? What happens if the day times out and not everyone has a list in? Players may not be able to submit actions without knowing what cards they are going to have for the night.

thank you, I DO have my moments of occasional brilliance.

tactically, it's a good card to pick, b/c most ppl would go for King, meaning the chances of getting consort were higher.

Thanks.

New order:

Consort
Card Finder
Vigilante
Mayor
Guard
Lover
King
Target Finder
Role Finder
Healer
Thief
Place Swap
Socialite
Bomber

Drek's got the right idea, much like Ment had. Consort is powerful for this very reason!

Gamelon, on 20 January 2010 - 03:37 AM, said:

Allright, well so you know for SH, my plan of attack here is to try and always take the Consort card whenever possible. When I don't get the Consort, my second choice is card-finder and I'll look for the King. I figure the Apprentices are unlikely to try and pick up the King since it nullifies their kill, so every person whom I find out picked up the King is a likely non-apprentice to me. From that I'll try and get the apprentices picked, spot who they're symping for the Master and ideally get them all killed/lynched.

Osseric is in no hurry to Socialize, although he does intend on killing Silchas. Pity that, Silchas is quickly becoming my favorite player for trying to use the logic of the cards to eliminate potential suspects.

Osseric, on 20 January 2010 - 02:54 PM, said:

Ok, I will sit on this card as well.

Go through with the kill.

Serc's got himself a juicy card and correctly deduces that Alkend had to be very early in the draw (Alkend was 2nd). He also sets up an early guard on the Master, which could be extremely devastating for the scum! Note that this is an example of why 'King' or 'Consort' can be good scum cards. Bent should be trying to get rid of these cards for his troops. Consort wasn't even drawn until late yesterday and it's quickly becoming a favorite.

Serc, on 20 January 2010 - 02:59 PM, said:

Guard? Really? Well kick ass...
Well first guess Alkend went for the King, although he might not have Guard on the top of his list.. Hmm tricky.

Guard Mockra for now.

Mockra steals Hood's Path's card... however, this is a dead card, because nobody else took the other Lover card. I knew that card would be one of the first to get ignored!

Mockra, on 20 January 2010 - 03:28 PM, said:

Take Hood's Path's card please

No qualms from The Dude on taking out Silchas Ruin.

Kalse, on 20 January 2010 - 04:27 PM, said:

Same order on Cards

Provisional:

Kill Silchas Ruin Confirmed: Unless Shin Wants to use her card. If thats the case Use Healer Card on Osseric. I am letting her decision be final.

Alkend goes a little crazy... alt146 is going to get himself super-duper killed!

Alkend, on 20 January 2010 - 04:50 PM, said:

You know what, fuck it.

Kill Silchas Ruin.

I'm very suspicious of him, and this game needs stirring up. Big time. I know that's normally a scum move, but it's been a couple of real-life days of game play, and there's only five damned pages.

And he might actually be a Symp - there's three scum, and in such a small crowd, that gives me good odds. And I can't stand anyone who instantly, first post in, starts using the word "scum" too often. It just reeks of diversionary tactics. Not to mention his other attempts to get people to reveal information.

Bent submits a card order list and standing orders to kill off Kaschan, although Kalse is right behind him.

Mockra, on 20 January 2010 - 04:56 PM, said:

Provisional - kill Kaschan

If he's lynched kill Kalse

I didn't input Bent's list yet because it isn't the full list, but since there are less than 16 people alive, all cards will not get drawn anymore.

Thursday, what do you think about having players just submit a list of cards where the total cards listed is equal to the number of players still in the game. Would speed up the card submissions, probably, and it isn't necessary to use the full deck.

Well at the moment there are 14 players and 14 card options ^_^. But once it gets a bit lower, it sounds like a good idea. Once the number of players dips below 10 we can try it out.

In game related news, hopefully Mockra being guarded will make Day 3 nice and juicy. Especially for Alkend, to whom it will look like there have been no scum NKs the previous night :pirate:.

The Mayor card does not indicate that you have to pick a different person to target, so I will assume Kaschan's stated action is allowable and have informed him as such.

Serc effectively votes for himself today.

I should probably have been posting more messages to SH - sorry about that (you're doing a great job, PB!). Unfortunately I don't really have time to do it while at work...have to keep the moderating quick :p.

Anyhow, unless some of ths scum try to steal from the Bomber (they die immediately, by the way) or get targetted by the one remaining Vig shot, I can't see any other ending than them waltzing to victory here. Participation is just too low for the innos to coordinate a lynch properly. There's an awful lot of tools at the innos' disposal - they can use the reticence of the Apprentices to choose the King and Consort cards to trap them for example, or get a Guard right. But they've got to work together to use the information they're all getting properly, and with so little being said, that doesn't look like happening. Particularly if Silchas gets killed off tonight - Alt was the only one who was really pushing for that to happen.

I don't understand the "This will give the scum more information" approach - this game is deliberately set up so that the loss of one inno barely hurts the team at all. Players should be ready and willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good in the knowledge that whoever is left can take up the mantle of the Roled avenger. Shame that hasn't come to the fore.

Shinrei and The Dude do some scheming:

Osseric, on 20 January 2010 - 10:18 PM, said:

Ok, killing Silchas is ok by me.

I was thinking "oh, I could reveal guard and reveal that I guarded Mockra, and that I agreed with Kalse about his vote on Ampelas"

And that would in one sweep clue Mockra in that you and I are his assistants.

Except, Mockra not dying soon would probably get us all killed in short order.
You having the heal card could buy time, but not enough probably.

Besides, if I were the inno with the guard tonight, I'd probably guard Mockra or Osseric(me) to confirm.

(Although you never know with this group. Sometimes getting slapped in the face with info makes people stupider for some reason)

Kalse, on 20 January 2010 - 11:55 PM, said:

I really like that Plan. As you were the guard last night. As I am the healer tonight, If we both killed Ruin, ( and I think Mockra is going to go after Ruin) I could say that I healed Mockra ... but you are right, if he doesn't die soon.... It might get us in trouble. AND if he does get lynched/vigged before one of us... then you will immediately get lynched and thus end the game.

I wonder if it would be worth exploring that we could say that I guarded you or you guarded me night one... that would clear one of us... but I guess that would make mockra want to kill us. We need to find a way to let mockra know who we are.....

Maybe tomorrow, state that you used the Socialite card on mockra and I. I can back you up saying that I was moved as well. He will know you are lying. That might at least be a way to tip him off that we are on his team. How does that sound? It might make them believe you are inno... and it will tip off Mockra.

Osseric, on 21 January 2010 - 12:34 AM, said:

I like that idea about the socialite card. Saying I guarded mockra would be really ballsy and might get us through 2 day phases since you ahve the heal card, but after that it could be game over really quick for us.

Let's go through with a kill and I'll claim having used the socialite card.

Should we switch kill targets though, so we don't waste hitting who Mockra is likely going after?

Osseric, on 21 January 2010 - 12:37 AM, said:

actually, no, I can't state that i used the socialite card. Because the info I get from that is at least one person who is sitting next to those people that I moved. If someone calls me on it to prove who is sitting next to Mockra, I won't know. I know who is sitting next to YOU, but not Mockra.

There are plenty of ideas they can put to the test...but the problem is, they don't really want to show the rest of the innos how collaboration is done by being the first to share info. No way the Socialite card will work, since Mockra's neighbours would realise that he was still sitting next to them the following morning.

If there's only one kill tonight, that might actually put a damper on their ideas, since people will be more wary of the Apprentices trying to pull the wool over their eyes. And as it stands, they don't need to be making any flamboyant moves, since the innos aren't putting them under any pressure at all. People need to be talking a bit more to make it necessary for the scum to take that kind of risk.

Sir Thursday
