Greetings people. Just finished Gardens of the Moon (literally a couple of hours ago) and felt an urge to go tell someone how absolutely smashing it was. I'm a bit of a stranger to weird concepts like picking up the phone and calling a friend to chat so here I am instead .
I'm off to browse the hopefully-spoiler-free GotM sub-forum.

The forums are pretty well regulated, but if something is under a Spoiler tag, it's there for a reason, so don't click those.

Hello, decided to finally make an account here. I've been avoiding this website since I started the series a little over a year ago. I just finished it two nights now and am on the road to recovery. Anyway, little about myself. I'm twenty years old, and I'm an undergraduate at a state university in New York (upstate, not the city). I have two majors currently in Anthropology and Geology. This series has also incredibly influenced a world I've recently started creating. Not quite sure what else to say, so feel free to ask me anything. Cheers!

Hi everyone. I learned about this forum from the Facebook group. I post on there a lot, and lurked on here for a long time until I finally decided to join.

Hi everyone,
I see there are two introduction threads going, not really sure which one to use so it's going here since this is the most recently used
I started reading Erikson around 2004 or so, I think the paperbacks must have been reissued in the UK around then. My father is a rare book dealer and I got him into them too later on. I've always loved the series for its complexity, and pretty much everyone who's made it through Gardens of the Moon agrees it's a unique series and a unique way of writing. I remember Erikson saying in an interview once that the way he writes is almost short story-esque except...not short. I can't help but think that's one of the most apt descriptions I've heard.
Anyway because of the complexity, lack of personal time and time gaps between publications I've often found myself googling characters to try and jog my memory of who they are, which books they were in and so on- especially when a lot of characters have similar names, backgrounds and so on. Often I've been redirected here or to the associated wiki, so I thought it was time I actually officially joined the community rather than just lurking.
Nice to meet you all

Ola folks, it's been a long time so I figured I would re-introduce myself.
I'm Fiddler. I uhh fiddle with things...
Okay, now that that's out of the way, it's good to see the forum is still alive and my account is still here!

There's a group controlling the entire forum? Is it like some sort of Scientologist plot? Thanks for the welcome I look forward to arguing the existentialism of Tool's use of his own name after his use as a tool.

Right, some how magically under control while the family grows with alacrity.
