Hello, I am a German and have started with the books a few weeks ago. In a few days I will go on with House of Chains.
I like the books very much, but my favourite books are from A Song of Ice and Fire.
I am twenty years old and going to study in a few months. My english isn't so good, I'm not here for discussions, 'cause there is a German Forum where I can discuss. I'm here because of Malazan Forum meetings. I would like to be on such a meeting next year.
greetings from Germany, seregthaur

Each literature seems to be boring, compared to A Song of Ice and Fire !

- A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen could put it to the test. :P

Hello all. Just another Malazan fan who is currently enjoying Reaper's Gale. Thought I'd go ahead and take the plunge. Just in case I am ever again at the point where I need to commiserate with someone after reaching a certain point. Surprised it has taken so long and so many books before I sought this place out. Well, not really, the site was mentioned in the acknowledgements for Reaper's Gale. For some reason, I read them, which I normally do not do. Thought it would be fun to be amongst the fans, since I am also one.

I'm not new, I've been here many moons, but I want to welcome all of the new people who are just lurking at the moment. Sign up, log in and speak out. Also, on a personal note, I lurked for a few months before I finally was brave enough to post the first time.

It was terrifying. But the others were welcoming and I regret not logging in sooner. Now I'm just your average run of the mill empire junky. It wasn't a difficult transition, in my opinion.

Hiho everyone. First post so, greetings. I've recently finished the WOT serise so was feeling kinda down till I came across this and I have to say 'wow', there is so much lore and backstories and history here. I'm currently on the "House of Chains". This series is figin inspiring. I keep finding myself doodling the different races, illustrating characters, sketching fight scenes wondering how they would all flesh out. That's how I stumbled upon this forum actually, you guys are awesome. Hope to upload some of my artwork soon for feedback. Cheers to Steven Erickson. Kampai! Posted Image

I just finished the Malazan Books of the Fallen a week or so ago, I believe I will get around to reading Esslemont's books at some point. I started Erikson's books in July and I read them every chance I could get. I saw this forum awhile ago, and I had meant to stop by here, but I didn't want to risk seeing any spoilers... so now that I'm finished ... Hello everybody.

Hello. I started reading GotM back in November. I'm now half way through DG (I'm a a slowpoke) and I'm loving every page! ;)

I've been trying to get my friends to read the books with me but I haven't had much luck, they're all stuck on the Game of Throne series still (also wonderful books). So I'm glad that I found this forum! :)

(with head bowed) Please Mr.Erikson sir, can you write about the Segulah more. Please.

I think you're in bad luck, since it seems that ICE has called shotgun on the Seguleh.

G'Day, I've been lurking for almost a year now read every Malaz book out, with the exception of The Wurms of Blearmouth. Obsessed with books now and trying to finish the Black Company books before starting my re-read (would help if my mate gave back my copy of GotM).

Hi, I just started reading GoTM and I'm enjoying the book so far. Hopefully I can finish the book within a month or two.

Ok, being a king nerd and hating spoliers i have stayed away from this entire site until i finished all the the books. Excluding FoD and the tales of B and KB. Only now do I find out about the book by book format of the forums. I really should pay attention. But anyway now I'm here and I'm wondering where do I go for overarching questions cos it seems the general questions forums get a bit grumpy on the spoilers front. Is there a "im up to date" section? Cos I've got nerdy questions spanning both SE and ICE books. Oh and also hi everyone and thanks for all the scholarly discussions, the attention to detail on this site makes my inner fanatic very happy.

Just use the spoiler tags. That way you get your question out and nobody gets grumpy. ^_^

Start a thread in the General Book Topics forum and put in the title/first post what books you've completed. Everyone will respect your wishes. Do NOT go into like the Deadhouse Gates forum and ask how ___________ events in Toll the Hounds call back to DG, for example.

Hey there, I started reading the series several months ago and I just started the Crippled God tonight. I was trying to track down the next copy of each book, but the local bookstore didn't have any Malazan books, so I had to track up to the city every time I finished a book to get the next one when I could afford it. Going through the main series has been a slow, but rewarding experience, and has been an amazing experience for me. The series has definitely set the bar when it comes to books in terms of practically everything.

Good Morning all! Just found this forum now, and feel the intense desire to find out what lore people have stumbled on through the series. I own the entire series, including Esslemonts' works. Never before have I read such... history?? seems like it is half the time. Anyway just saying hello from New Zealand to all, hopefully speak soon!

Hello All,

I am just starting to read the gardens of the moon, I am at chapter 8. I've switched from English to French (my mother tongue) because Erikson's English is too elaborate for me to follow at a decent path and without always wondering if I have understood properly what he means !
I've came to this site a few times, looking to have an idea on how the characters and universe of the books could be depicted, so I've looked at drawings mainly.
I love very long and complex stories about families, politics, countries. For years, I used to read historical novels and classics in French mostly. That was some years ago when I had enough and switch from novels to proper books about real History and investigation books. A month or two ago I came across a list of the best fantasy books in English and picked gardens of the moons just to see if I would like it.
Well so far, so good !
