why couldn't they get a house where he'd have his own study where he'd keep the statue and the woman would never want to go in there, because of said statue.

that'd have been a perfect compromise. but he chose to get whipped instead.

I agree with Bryn. Any girl putting down an ultimatum is a control freak (even more so on something like this).
And Mentalist is right somehow you'd assume that a house is big enough to have the statue somewhere without it being in the way.

I agree. There are certain people who, when in an unfavourable situation, turn the least little thing into an ultimatum. Such people are known as "pains in the ass."

Ultimatums don't work with women, they shouldn't work with men either.

That being said, I think "giving up his man card" is an overstatement. Giving up his 'nerd card' would be more appropriate.

Sex or nerd for life? He chose to keep boinking his wife rather than going back to life in his parent's basement.

Now if he gave into the following ultimatum: "give up bacon and beer for me" - THEN he'd no longer be a man.

I would infact buy ten of these monstrosities purely so that I could then get rid of them and take advantage of the guilt it would hopefully generate in the other half for years and years.
