Today (well, actually, on Friday) I purchased; Borderlands 2 and Transformers; Fall of Cybertron.
So far I have not played them much, but they are both awesome in their own way.

Decided to pre-purchase Dishonored despite my reservation about pre-purchasing new IPs. I don't like Bethesda as a publisher... hell, I don't even like Bethesda the developer very much, but I think the concept behind the game deserves my support.

Got Red Faction: Armegeddon which is decent with some nice concepts but still a poor mans Gears. Felt like it could have been bigger somehow. Anyway played the campaign mode but probably wont play it again.
Also bought myself Fable 3 and have been on that all day. Not bad but a bit flawed I think though maybe once I get further in it will get better.
The advantage of falling way behind on releases is that even old games are new to me and thus are like 10 pound bargain bin classics. Any other recommendations for the 360?

Of course, Mists of Pandaria. It's turning out to be a really great expansion, despite my reservations.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. And what a timesink it is turning into. Completely made me forget to play Borderlands 2 and/or Dishonored over the weekend, and I still haven't managed to let anyone survive past the rank of Captain.

I walked into the final mission and lost 3 colonels in 2 turns. It was not fun.

Well, I haven't been anywhere near end-game, but... so far, so good. It is essentially the hexed group versus group combat of Disciples III on a larger map, with a couple of other objectives in it. Repetitive, yet addictive. The oh-shit moment when you notice you'll be grouping your squaddies too close to each other because it is the only cover available is enough description, I guess.
Plus, never enough budget/ research time/ squaddies/ alien parts makes for tough choices.

hmmm sounds a lot like Incubation, which was a seriously hardcore game.

It's like a really goddamn weird mix of Incubation, a board game like Blood Bowl and Final Fantasy. Hard to explain. I could see the potential from the demo, but was really put off nonetheless - might pick it up at some point, though, everyone seems to be enjoying it to some extent

Xcom is a great game, only problem is when you name your squad and then watch your firends get eaten by chrisalyds
after completing xcom, which was tough, Ive finally bit the bullet and bought the first mass effect, and if it continues as good as it has so far I will most likely buy the next two as well
