Loved it, even if I can't get my Chinese names straight.
Gwynn, word of advice: Find the least-lynchable player in the game and bring your wrath to bear upon that person. 50% of the time it's going to be The Dude (the other 50% it will be Shinrei). Neither one has ever been lynched, excepting Shin in one case where he was outed as scum by a finder.

Wow, glad to see the pace of the game picked up, you guys had me worried there
Well played to everyone, congratz to the winners, cheers to PB for filling an entire page in spoilers all by himself (which shows how great the game was), and awesome, awesome set up and attention to detail, D'rek. /applause.
I think I'll start repping people even though I wasn't playing or modding

The way the game picked up also makes me happy (no thanks to me though). We've had some slow games recently.

With the whole who-wins thing, take it however you like. Basically everyone who survived wins, but Yuan Shao's people win more.
Cheers to everyone who played and big thanks to ST for modding while I was asleep (or curled around the toilet)

Nice scene, D'rek, and thanks for the awesome setup, I enjoyed it very much. Thanks to PB for doing such a great job - I couldn't have made the win without you, it's a fact.

I had a blast, Gem, and I totally couldn't alt-guess you this game. I thought you were possibly Bubba.

ok, a more specific question:
Yuan Shao is clearly the head honcho of the North-East, that much is a given.
now, Ji Ling was a warlord in the South Eastern part, in Yuan Shu's domain.
since the many defections, however, I ended up with Zhang Ji, who (iirc), picked up the last scraps of Dong Zhuo's Liang troops.
therefore, this would suggest that Zhang Ji was left in control of the far North-Western frontiers, possibly allying himself with the various steppe tribes against Yuan Shao.

Zhang Ji has just died (like Sun Ce did after carving out his own realm) and will pass on his land to his nephew Zhang Xiu (as Sun Ce did to Sun Quan). The officers under Zhang Ji will remain under Zhang Xiu and he'll expand and develop his realm - everything from Chang'an west to the borders of Ma Teng's domain, and much of the area south of that like Hanzhong and some of Yi. Huang Zhong, who ends this game alone and with no officers of his own, will play the same part as Liu Bei, fleeing from Yuan Shao but with not much of a home of his own. Next game will be Huang Zhong's few forces trying to ally with Zhang Ji to hold off the massive armies of Yuan Shao (the same way Liu Bei allied with Sun Quan to hold off Cao Cao in the battle of Chi Bi). Following that big battle (which won't be at Chi Bi, somewhere else) Huang Zhong will take Jing and then push eastwards and take over Liu Yao's realm (as Liu Bei took over Liu Zhang's realm). Then we'll have the 3 Kingdoms (plus Ma Teng, the Gongsun family and the Nanmen, which'll feature in minis).
So, to answer your question, Ji Ling will remain an officer of Zhang Xiu and follow him to glory or defeat.

D'rek, if I put together the profiles and basic factions, would you like to help me do a Japanese version of this game (Japan's Sengoku period of warlords, which is not unlike the Chinese Romance of Three Kingdoms)? I would love to do a Japanese version and the warlord personages of this Japanese period are pretty cool.

Or if you really wanted to play, I understand. In that case someone else want to volunteer to co-moderationingu?

I admit I had been wondering what this game would have been like if everyone knew the entire setup ahead of time. We could do a replay of it with Japan? I've played the board game Shogun, with Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi, is that the same time period?

yes, they are of that period, but in chapter one hideyoshi isnt a big name yet. to be like your setup, this would be a three part game.

This was a fun game, for the few, meager handful of days I got to play before being killed by D'rek.
NOT BITTER, REALLY
NOT BITTER, REALLY
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
