I'd fly down to Chicago for a North American Malazan Meet-Up.

Beer sure to bring some of that Molson with you. :)
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

What kind of sorority is starved of males? Seriously. That's an actual question, Morgy.

My school had 20,000 students Morgy. I think that's a suitably large school.

Law School had only 500 or so, but that school had 10,000 raging drunk Catholics, which, in drunkerdom equals about a 40,000 student body.

I didn't even notice that. I'm so nice. I took "Bent" as it's euphemistic meaning, you know? Also, Bent... about that name.....

I'm not too sure Bent's wife will be all that gung-ho about his plan. Lol.

Well, one of the girls is a lesbian right? Surely something can be worked out... :)

Shit, I can trade Lonesome Dove quotes til the cows come home.

Anyways, we were beat after the Field museum - so huge that walking and seeing everything is an ordeal - so the evening was spent drinking our faces off and eating in. I left this afternoon, so the Chicago meetup is postponed for a while yet. I will probably go back soon though.

Morgoth - if you can make it over to Broadway Cellars in Edgewater, the brunch is so goddamned good. I had a tuna melt seriously the size of my face along with some good fries. My girl had The Personal Trainer - which ended up being fantastic - and the service is pretty good, especially at night. I figured out one of the owners went to the same college I did and the other owner gave an impromptu and fascinating sermon on the sheer complexity of wine bottling and how it's idiotic at some points.

Sounds like epicness in the making... Venge, please remember to conveniently bring a fully charged i-mac notebook along.

Tapper, in it for the long distance reports.

Morgy is the one with the Mac notebook, and we all know how much he loves to post drunking messages. Do you really think Lauren would let me go to that? No me and the misses and Bent and his wife would be down at a pub talking about how nice the weather is in Chicago while HD, Morgy, and Rodeo played in the Sorority house... :)

You could convince Lauren to come along... On second thought, maybe not :). However, if you can't go to the sorority, bring the sorority to you :p. I guess that will involve showing HD a bottle of vodka which he'll follow it everywhere, bread crumb style, setting a few squirrels loose near Rodeo, and waving a bottle of whiskey at Morgy...

@Amphibian - sorry, this week-end turned out to be pretty busy. If you come back to chicago anywhere during october / november I'm up for a meet though.

Bent, Hoosier, Vengyboy, Bubba, Rodeo (yeah you too) - we have to manage this. A proper malazan night out in the US. It's about time it was done and I'd definitly like to meet the lot of you. Hoosier to argue law and alcohol, Vengeance for the good looks, Rodeo for the critters, and Bent because I've always wanted to punch him.

There's definitly room for a couple of people here if only for a week-end. And alcohol is absurdly cheap anyways.

I'm up for that. If anyone would rather come on Friday there's a bed or three available here it seems :)

Rodeo, you're coming and that's that.

Yes this is redundant.

Darkwatch is laying a guilt trip on me. Don't make me sulk in the corner.

As for Chicago, I'm still in the "maybe" section. Plane tickets to Chicago are retarded expensive. I can get London for a wee bit more than it'll cost me to get to Chicago. Ridiculous.

Let me work on it. If I can find a cheap deal, I might be in.

Honestly, I want to drink with all of you and have sexual with Morggy's sorority chick roommates.
