It was interesting watching Bubba cast the first vote and then Beru joined in. dk is quick (and right) in his analysis.

D'rek, I can't seem to use MafiaManager. It says "game not started yet", so I did that last time count by hand.

D'rek here. Mafia Manager is currently non-operational (I don't know why it's only for our game). Alt is working on it, he thinks the hosting company might've inserted an ad right in the middle of his code. For now we just have to do our own math.

makes sense, you wanna live to use those vigs after all!

well i want to make sure no one has any bps so i dont waste my vigs.

i would assume people are recruited who are able to be recruited by someone effectively trying to killthem.

do i have a hidden bp, i think i must :)

so hidden that other players cant see it and it doesnt affect them at all when they try to kill you!

what is the significance of the number 9 next to my kill power? If we choose to kill can one of us still hit up the bar?

The 9 is the timing of the action in the order of resolution. See the mechanics post for more info.

Since you're paired, you need to both take no action in order to go to the bar.

Shin here,

From your PM, if you're grounding her you choose 3 players (since you're sober) who will then be unable to entice her.

crap forgot that part....

Eloth-Alkend-Mockra

there you go...

Also Bubba is barghast

Whatthe hell did Galain do? That was a case of epic badness and naturallyBarghast's half-assed attempt to agree with it and vote immediatelyscreams symp (Carlisle?)

Omtose didn't vote him in return, buthe did a 3-in-row style post of why it was so bad, a clear indicationthat he's frustrated and doesn't want to be lynched and is trying toturn it around on Galain, which means Omtose is not a Cullen.

Thenwe have Kaschan chiding Galain but not voting him... sympish. Elothshows up and AGREES with Galain... sympish. Our faction can't be thatbig so most likely most/all of these people are just being overly nicebut seriously, if it's Barghast on the team, he has GOT to take bettercare of how he agrees with Galain, especially if they are in the sametime zone and are likely to be online at the same time often.

Yeah, beru made a bit of a noob mistake there by too clearly supporting his leader and the veterans are all going to catch it. Hopefully they realize the reason for it and don't vote him out on his first day...

dkt could get into a bit of a soft spot these early few days, but once he gets some corruptions in place, he can be the devil and ask the corrupted players for their opinion, at which point they can't really accuse him because they can't vote for their own argument them!

Oh and I added 2 hours to the timer to compensate for the forum downtime.

WellI know how Mafia works and the case on Galain is pretty damn good forDay 1, especially in a game of factions where it's not likely for morethan ~50% of the players to be town.

I have a few options.

1)Just wait and see who votes Galain and why. Very likely the early votesare not Cullens (Tellan has a vote, Omtose isn't willing to go down) soI can use that information later in the game, should I live long enough.

2)Kill someone to keep things interesting. Obviously, I'd have to killsomeone that isn't on my team for it to be worth it. Right now theperson that stands out in my mind is Omtose, the 'subject' of Galain'scase. Since the only people with any risk of being lynched today areOmtose and Galain and I can't very well kill Galain, Omtose is theremaining option.

If Omtose DFs as a townie, then Galain isprobably doomed and nothing I can do but hop on late in the train ormysteriously disappear for the day and just hope enough votes aren'tthere (highly unlikely).

If Omtose DFs as anything but a townie,Galain has a 'better' chance at not being lynched because it's possiblefor discussion to spark AGAINST people who were clearly trying to pushthe Galain case.

My real problem is that I have to decide prettyquickly because speed lynches are highly disliked and so in order togive as much time as possible for the crowd to look over otherpotential lynches given the DF, I need to do it quickly.

Tellan is another option simply because it's possible he's fake symping Omtose in an effort to set up a future lynch.

Ialso kind of like the case Ruse put on Barghast, but it's verydangerous water. If I kill or help lynch Barghast, there's a reasonablechance he's a Cullen and when everyone sees he's a Cullen and isn'tEdward, bye bye Galain. Of course, this works in reverse if Galain islynched first, too. In fact, this works in every scenario in whichBarghast isn't lynched first AND isn't town.

If I kill Barghastand he's town, it makes the 'symping Galain' case look a lot weaker. IfBarghast is any other faction people will just say Galain is the leaderand he's dead anyway.

But would it be worth the risk?

Maybe they are the predators... ;)

Gottasay, right now, I'm pretty happy with the way things are going. Stillplenty of time left but tons of people are coming to Galain's defense, making him look less like a faction leader. It's probably a good timefor me to 'show back up' and start dropping my analysis.

Right now I'm thinking of going for Barghast, and just crossing my fingers that he's town.

Also, I moved the manager to a new (hopefully not retarded) host.

Lol, Beru's fucking toast. New players always die first. High House Mafia needs an intervention on their hazing practices.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Changed my mind & decided to at least understand the setup - looks very cool, sad that my phone had to die as the game started. Definitely dont have enough time to play such a high TMDI game :)

Also, I hope Illy has fun - he has an awesome role. Hmm, maybe I shold just not play for a year or two and then demand awesome roles ;)

Sounds like reasonably interesting stuff is happening on thread, poor noobs always stand out like sore thumbs. At least he didnt vote night.

Lol, Mafia players are so fucking mean. "Either he's fake symping, or he's symping and failing horribly at it." So, not only are we going to vote you off, we are going to add insult to injury. Meanies!

Thoughts from Eloth:

Quote

So, here we go.

I'm exactly where I want to be: just after the middle of the train, middle of the posting list, and with 1 roled townie spotted to boot who I am absolutely going to exploit in the coming days, since we don't need to kill him to begin with. The best of it all is, I am all there without a lot of calculation on it all Posted Image

t45 and me have to communicate a lot more, though... it is not boding well if it remains this silent.

Also, I checked wiki due to town victory conditions (downing all killers, whoch indicates that the scum factions aren't just killers) and all of a sudden I am wondering if we do not have a symp somewhere in Laurent or whatever he may be called.

And that's me for today, I think.

Hope the midterm went well, D'rek!

and with Meanas confirms the kill on Tellan.

And Illybahn puts in his prov:

Quote

I'd like to maim/wound/severely chafe Eloth - he's sensible, which I distinctly remember being a bad sign, and I want to see if anything happens to Galain or Omtose during the night before I make any more decisions.

Telas orginavizing his thinkyness:

Quote

edit: THIS IS NOT AN ACTION, IT'S JUST A PLACE FOR ME TO ORGANIZE MY THOUGHTS FOR LATER ACTIONS! Don't actually kill anyone!

I'm pretty sure I can get away with sending you anything I want today. I realize I have a super powerful day power that I can use Day 1 (Vigs), but the fact that you are using H&M to co-ordinate means almost certainly eavesdropping/spying on convos. That's dangerous stuff, but I doubt it's going to occur day 1.

That said, I am devising a special list of people that I will want to kill IN THE FUTURE and another list of people I do NOT want to kill, based upon the info gleaned from the thread thus far.

KILL LATER
Omtose - Clearly took offense to the case on him by Galain and probably has a fairly important role or something that seems cool considering how anxious he got to refute the case. Consider him likely a powerful player in another faction, probably not town.

Tellan - Obviously siding with Omtose so can't be a Cullen. Has hinted as possible sympage on Galain. Could be a symp of Omtose's faction, or could be a very active townie... Consider him likely a non-powerful player in another faction, possibly town.

DON'T KILL
Barghast - Clearly new, going to be Day 1's lynch. Let's hope he's not a symp of our faction with his blatant symping. His death will be interesting because if he's town, that gives Galain some breathing room. If he's NOT town but comes up as a powerful member of a faction (Jacob, Laurent, Coven-chick -- yes I did some research on other characters), then it's likely we can call it a fake symp to also give Galain some breathing room. If he's NOT town and comes up a lesser member of a faction, should be interesting to see who jumps on Galain as being a possible master. If he comes up Cullen, I think we're in big trouble

Eloth - Currently looking like a symp, possibly Carslisle Cullen.

WATCH
Emurlahn - Very bizarre Day 1 behavior... called Galain probable scum and then voted Barghast instead. Signaling Galain, or just trying to avoid making too many waves?

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Hey guys, glad you're on to take over shin, I need to go out to supper super soon. Midterm was poopy. I added in the lynch scene and modified the wording of the death a bit (we don't have a coroner so I don't want it to be *too* misleading). I'll be back on before night ends so I can clarify any bits of resolution necessary. Thanks guys!

Yeah, the whole thing was in bullet points before I realized what happened. I had to make a meeting in 5 minutes, AND make a bunch of handouts at the same time as I was trying to resolve. I deleted most of the bullet points, but that one slipped past me. Posted Image

Starting in about 2 hours, I'll be able available to mod straight through for the next 8 hours or so.
