There's only some basic sorts of stuff out: difficulty boosts, a few new items (usually unbalanced to hell), some minor texture mods, big things take more than a couple weeks to make, but they're in the works with quests and rebalanced/changed weapons and armor and all the fun stuff we expects from plug ins.

think I'll prod around some mods on the weekend then.

also, well done Eddie Dean. and of course I got the name wrong. Rule of Cool applies tho, slayer > killer. also, I should really give the black company a read-through in english, if only to avoid future mistakes.

The only thing with mods is the trouble with the toolset that kept cropping up. Corrupted save files and a bitch of an interface to get used to has slowed mod production a lot, from what I've seen mod groups saying.

(And I'll point out, warriors and rogues shouldn't be equivalent to mages...the latter has to be locked in a tower with full-time anti-magic guards ffs...:p)

Just beat it for the second time through. That's 120 hours of enjoyment for 60 bucks. That's some good value. Such a good game. I'm not sure if I'm going to plow through it one more time as a rogue, or if I will take a break and get back to some other neglected games like Oblivion and Mass effect and orange box.

About to finish my first playthrough as a human noble warrior. Got to say, this game is awesome. Playing with Morrigan, Wynne, Shale and myself is a breeze, even on Hard (although dragons get a bit dicey, and
Spoiler
).

One little thing I'm having trouble with though. I'm at level 16, and am supposedly supposed to be seeing much better crystals appearing for Shale. Yet they are extremely random drops on bodies and in chests, so I only have 'chipped' and 'clear' crystals, and I've searched every merchant in the game for crystals, but none of them sell them. Apparently I'm supposed to be able to buy them from the guy at camp, in Orzammar and a couple of other places, but it just doesn't show. Am I experiencing a frustrating glitch or just missing something?

Going for a elven Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage next. I've heard they're quite good. :D

Sounds like something glitchy for you with the crystals. or you're just unlucky. I was able to find plenty of flawless crystals left and right at around level 16. The only merchant I can remember selling them is the crazy guy next to the diamond quarter in orzammar, so if he doesn't have them, you've definitely got some sort of problem going on.

The dwarven merchant in Denerim sells them too, at least he did for me.

About ready to start my next play through, not sure if I want a mage or a rogue.
Slinging spells has never really been my thing heh. So yeah, I suppose it will be a duelist/ranger rogue.

arcane warrior can become pretty much indestructible with the right build. it won't have the ofensive power of a casting mage, but hell, it does feel awesome.

Rogue is the most fun way to play this game imo. My fav. setup is duelist/assasin, though. Mainly because one of the abilities gives a huge boost to backstabbing based on cunning which is really helpful.

There is no reason to ever pay money for crystals, ever. Ever. Well, as long as you do one specific thing.

Orr, if it's too late for this for you, the traveling merchant you run into has them. You can find some when you are doing Shale's character quest, or buy them in Orzammar. The quality of crystals you find though are dependent on your level.

Nah, it's likely a glitch, which is annoying. Neither the dwarf in Denerim nor the wench in Redcliffe has any crystals for sale. Sigh. Off to Orzammar, then. Fingers crossed.

Well, I always did the level up glitch, aside from my first playthrough, and never found anything other than the best crystals. So I would definatly say they are leveled.

The level-up glitch that gets you to level 20 in like 30 min?
I've done it just to try all the mage's spells before a playthrough, but I think it would ruin a playthrough starting that high.

Eh, not really. I played through twice, once regular and once with the glitch and I thought it was just as fun glitching. I'm just too impatient of a person to take hours to level up when I know I can do it quickly.
