It has the radial menu, but you have 6 quicktabs you can map any function to for each character, which is usually enough to cover your most-used actions.

So the expansion pack out in march looks legit, like it's actually going to expand the game and make it better, not just add on a 30 minute quest and a free item like I was expecting. Nice. By march I'll be itching to play this game again, I got about of a third of the way through my third playthrough before moving on to a different game.

Yeah, in my opinion, the expansion is like Oblivion's Shivering Isles add-on. Something substantial.

But yeah, as for the delayed Ostagar DLC, it was put up today to download without any announcement so it was a great surprise to see on live. I bought it but haven't got to playing yet. I'll post my thoughts (is it worth it/ length/ etc) once I get through. I do expect it to be quality though.

Yeah, you bring up a radial menu. Worst part of the game as far as I'm concerned. Couldn' t ever get comfortable with it.


I loved it, personally. You could keep a conversation flowing seamlessly with that, choosing an option fast while the previous sentence is still going - something that made it very movie-like... interactive movie-like.

This morning a title update on the Xbox 360 for Dragon Age: Origins was made available in preparation for the release of Return to Ostagar. This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins. We are removing Return to Ostagar from Xbox Live until the issue is resolved and are recommending that you do not download the title update. If you have already performed the update, we apologize for this and are working hard to ensure a fix is available as soon as possible.

We will provide more information to you when it is available."

I failed to get the Ostagar expansion but managged to get the title update which made all the specilisations i'd unlocked(bar ones I was actually using) dissapear.
Also, each time I get a new specilisation, when I next load it is gone(assuming I didn't use it straight away).

heh yeah, I got both the update and Return to Ostagar. Played through the DLC and specializations weren't an issue since my characters were all too high at that point.

The DLC took about 30 minutes to complete. The area is exactly the same as in the beginning just with added barriers and the loot is geared more towards the mid-level players, instead of someone who is level 22 and who already beat the game. Some new enemies are introduced, which is cool, but altogether not worth the price.

That makes me sad. I wanted something better. i hear something is coming out in march I think that is actually a significant expansion.

compared to this shit, significant might just mean three hours. worst gaming trend ever.

RtO wasn't even worth the half hour it took to pirate, install and enable. and that is just damned sad.

So, I'm doing a human noble rogue. I'm making him a spoiled fop that cares little about anything but himself and getting laid. Turns out there's quite a few amusing conversation options if one follows this to a fault. I almost felt a little bad breaking up that dalish romance thing.

In addition, I think that my party now (shale, morrigan, sten) is the most amusing so far. You get a lot of conversations between them, and they're quite judgmental in regards to the world in general too.

I'm thinking of giving a solo playthrough a go. Either Arcane Warrior or a dagger/dagger cunning rogue. then again, I just picked up GTA IV and Mass Effect 2 is looming on the horizon... might not have the time!

So I shouldn't say that gamestop just called and told me to pick up my copy? ok.

@G: if you want to try solo, a dex rogue dual+middle tree archer would probably be your best bet really... though there might be a real challenge to a cunning rogue. Arcane is maybe too easy to be enjoyable with the right magics.
