Wow, there are some really stunning photos on here. I have an awesome old Minolta 35mm SLR that I got from my dad, but film and development always made it too expensive to take up as a hobby and I cant afford a nice digital SLR.

@Cougar - most point and click type cameras allow you to push the button in half way to 'grab' an exposure level, then focus on something else and push the button in all the way to take the photo.

I know we havew new settings to resize giant pics, but why did it shrink it down that small? I'm sure the forum allows bigger pics than that.

That's Washington state, actually. "Continental" is a bit of a misnomer, since it generally only refers to the 48 contiguous states.

I have been justifiably mauled by a pack of pedantic bears. The word I should have used was contiguous, not continental. The photo is in Washington state, the most northwest point of the CONTIGUOUS United States.

Well, as I meant to make clear, even though logically "continental" would include Alaska, its common usage frequently refers to only the lower 48. So I won't hold it against you.

Cauthon, you have some great pics there. Is photography your profession?

Once I get back to my home pc, I'll throw a few up as well...mostly of my boys, but they are quite godlike in appearance.
