Okay, just caught back up. These last few minutes have been hectic as hell. I think Korv is the best bet for scum, but after that amazingly fast switch, I'm not going to hammer right away.

Ok don't worry your pretty little head about it.

It is Day 1. 40 minutes remaining

17 Players still alive: Anomandaris, Barghast, D'riss, Emurlahn, Galain, Gamelon, Hood's Path, Kaschan, Korvalain, Liosan, Meanas, Mockra, Omtose, Ruse, Silchas Ruin, Spite, Tulas Shorn

9 votes to lynch, 9 votes to go to night

4 votes for Silchas Ruin: ( Korvalain, Meanas, Emurlahn, Tulas Shorn )
9 votes for Korvalain: ( Kaschan, Galain, Silchas Ruin, Omtose, Barghast, Ruse, Hood's Path, Gamelon, Spite )

Players not voted: Anomandaris, D'riss, Liosan, Mockra

------------------

Knock Knock Knock

The firm rapping on the thick oaken door alerted Presidente Grinto that his Chief of Police had finally arrived. "Come," said el Presidente, and the door quickly opened and closed.

The arrival was a long and lean man, barely 160 pounds and towering around two meters. He probably could have used a hot meal--and a good night's sleep by the look of the rings underneath his eyes. Presidente Grinto was used to his Chief of Police looking so gaunt and gave it no additional thought. The man cleared his throat.

"El Presidente, we appear to have a... a situation." The man began, stuttering.

"Oh come out and say it! I hate it when you take so much time to get to the point, Hector." El Presidente was clearly a bit annoyed with the Chief of Police's usual mannerisms.

"Of course, my apologies, El Presidente," the man continued. "Your fears appear to be true. We have reason to believe that there is a foreign agent working against you. We have been following his tracks slowly. He does not show his head often, but every time he appears, well..." The Chief of Police's voice trails off. He pulls out a manilla folder from his pack and tosses it before El Presidente.

Hugo eyes the Chief cautiously then looks down at the folder as he slowly opens it up. A blurry figure, hard to distinguish, appears to be engaged in a variety of suspicious behaviors. Hugo says, "Of course, it's possible that this man is just cautious, like me... perhaps he just has a lot on his mind or doesn't want to be out in the sun too long?"

The Chief nods. "This is possible, El Presidente, which is why we have not yet brought him. What are your orders?"

El Presidente puts his hand to his whiskered chin.

"Execute the motherfucker," he said.

Korvalain is dead. He was

Darren Stub - an American Spy
Damian Thursday - an English Spy
Didier St.Roux - a French Spy
Dmitri Subarenko - a Russian Spy

It is now night.
Everyone is level 1.
We will now accept night actions.

I'll be here till Deadline. Honestly I like the Korv case better. and would prefer his lynch. BUT. I do think we need a CF in this game and will switch to Sil if it looks like the only viable lynch.

@gamelon even if its based off Mod error you can glean information off of the train/ interactions leading up to the lynch. To me, this is better than 0 information and 0 lynch.

Ok, that being said, Something about spite stuck out at me. I know its too late in the day, but its something we might want to look at later, and I already went through all the work to find the quotes. First he starts the Silchas Chain:

Buenos dias! Still trying to wrap my head around the setup, but checking in.

My take on the intro scene is that all members of the syndicate are infiltrating the other teams, so there probably are at least 4 and no one can trust anyone on their team.

Any other takes on it?

Looks like you know Spanish to me. So I says your scum

Vote Silchas

Then I point out, now apparantly misguidedly, that he also mentions syndicate. I wasn't joking, I hadn't read the sign up thread. I was serious and thought we had a good catch. Spite agrees with me.

I noticed that right away as well...followed by sowing seeds of doubt. And where in the OP does it mention the term "Syndicate" Sounds like a possible mess up in post right after reading a PM.

I'll hold off on vote till more people have checked in, but damn if that isn't a very odd first post

That was my guess as well

edited to fix quotes

Then someone points out that the Syndicate info was in the OP/signup... Spite DEFENDS his vote. Making no reference to it being a joke. And leaves it. Saying that the Spanish statement still warrants his vote. He doesn't sound jokey to me.

From the Intro Post, underline added by me.

Quote

5. Role PMs.

A. Headers: or, how to fake a role PM. Roles are headed in the following way:

Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery (British) – Spy

From left to right:
character name – role description (nationality) – alignment (Spy for town, Syndicate for scum).

Hmmm well he still spoke spanish. So vote stays

Then after the train gets to about 5 or 6, all of a sudden its a joke vote. It wasn't real. This seems disingenuous to me. It seems now, like he is distancing himself from his vote. Perhaps to comback later and say "Well my vote was a joke vote..not real" It just seems to me like the initial vote, and subsequent defense of that vote, doesn't follow the pattern of a joke vote.

View PostSpite, on 22 September 2009 - 02:40 PM, said:

As I was saying. My original vote on Silachs was a total joke vote and it has been interesting to see how the train has piled up.

Finally, at the point that it looks like Sil will get railroaded... he jumps off the train. With 2 hrs left.

For the record, these are from the OPs:

Throughout the game, lover links will be established, changed andbroken. These can be between different factions and between spies andscum. Be careful what you reveal.

and:

"Unfortunately, we had no team on the island. Gremio would never havemade that speech had we kept the leash tight on him, madame."
"What is done, is done. No team. Infiltrators?"

I am most suspicious of Emur and Galain, as they voted for me after Omtose pointed out that first quote, which is really all I was trying to say: don't trust the people you are communicating with. It says it in the OP. Clearly none of you read it, so I was correct in my decision to reiterate it.

This lynch on me is lazy and misguided.

The lynch on you is lazy and I think that I will remove my vote for a while. In the end though you are past the point of no return and are most likely going to be the person lynched on day one.

Remove Vote

It might be nothing, but it just seems odd to vote, defend that vote, then as a train is piling say its a joke vote, and remove it later.

This combined with the fact that he has been the main engine (along with Galain) to try to hit the 500 post mark just doesn't sit well with me.

Something to keep an eye on anyway. Like I said, I'll be around till deadline. For now

vote Korv

cause I really liked that case. It fits with how I play scum when I am. But if it means a lynch I will switch to Silchas, cause I think we need a lynch one way or another.

(Sorry if this seems out of place and late, I am at work and can do this sporadically.)

not really, fact is if you look at how teams gain points it would be stupid not to be on a lynch. for example if i am british i need to be on a lynch for my team to earn ten points. if i am american at least three of us have to be on every operation to earn points, and if i am on the french or russian team i dont want the brits or americans to score points by my missing lynches(and leaving room for them to vote) it seems people are eager to get on. I wasnt given korvalains name, i dont know he is on my team so i am balancing that aginst the points system and facing up to the fact if theres a lynch, its more worth my while being on it than just thinking its a bad idea. especially when its obviously going to happen.

Well that is interesting. He could be a neutral player who could have ended up on what ever team had a majority or he was waiting to be activated by someone else, or he was scum.

Good scene Tapper.

Well, that's just weird. Not sure what to make of it at all. My first impression, though, is that the only consistent thing is the word "spy." I don't think he was syndicate.

I am beat from that near-miss, though it doesn't look like we did much better by not lynching me. Taking off for a while.

Uh, wow...what? My suspicion is that he was scum and was masquerading as a member of all teams.

We're being bombed at the moment with NAs (to be expected, of course) humble request: please send them as a seperate PM, with the title NA night 1, to make the order of resolution easier. Thanks
