Hola. Mat here from Sydney.

Currently on Reapers Gale after accidentally reading the Bonehunters first! I bought all of the othes and have been ploughing through them since.
I dont' like generic Fantasy but have been blown away by the clever use of Magic and the grittiness of the wars.

Love it!

Hello to everyone :)

Hopefully reading Reaper's Gale early won't impact your enjoyment of Bonehunters too much!

I have a habit of picking up books mid-series.

TBH, I was leery of the book when I first saw it - as mentioned, I hate generic fantasy. I was hooked however, I ordered all 7 halfway through reading it. It didn't spoil it and when I finished Midnight Tides, I flicked back through to reread sections.

It's all good!

This is overdo, I suppose. I've been a spectator in this forum for the most part but I am really happy that such a great place exists to help me with all my Malazan questions and such. Anyway, the books are great, the art is great, the maps are great... this forum is outstanding. Thanks for everything.

Lol! Reading Bonehunters first is definitely doing it the hard way. Glad you stayed on board. I have unknowingly started a series in the middle before. It's good to keep the brain on its toes.

maro - well I don't think many people would describe Erikson as generic, thankfully! Glad you stuck with it :p

Spoony - Always great to see more mancunians on the board! Maybe hang around enough and you'll be tempted into coming to our annual Manky Meet next christmas - this year's one is only a few days away, so keep your eyes peeled for some no doubt amusing pictures popping up early next week :p

Seguleh First - Wonderful, it's good to hear some positive opinions!

Man I'm kind of jealous in a way, you have so much exciting stuff ahead of you, it would be ace to be reading them all for the first time again(impossible I know, but I'm being wistful. :crybaby:)

Welcome to you, and to all the others who have posted here since my last one. <_<
Oddly enough, I know a guy who calls himself Spoony from Manchester, are you the same guy?

Don't worry, I caught the Necromunda reference. Tell me, what's the difference between a juve and a n00b?

Hi there from Cape Town, South Africa. I've been an on-and-off lurker on this forum for years now. Finally decided to get a bit more involved. I've read pretty much all the Malazan books except for the Broach novellas. Currently busy with my 1st re-read and just about finishing up The Bonehunters.
