Hey there, after lurking for a while today I've decided to show my face.

I've been using the Encyclopedia as an aid both for comprehension of the books and writing for RPGs for a short while now. Great job guys!

Hello from sunny Scotland :)
I've been around this forum for sometime now although only made 1 previous post.....was shot down in flames so I disappeared into obscurity ^_^
I have been reader of this series of books since they were first published. One of the few pressies my wife has bought me that turned out good.
I have read all the books (several times over) so I though I would contribute to this forum aswell by subjecting you all to my inane waffle....even if its just to be shot down in flames again or ridiculed :D

Hey All. Just your friendly neighborhood Michigander here. This is far and away the most in-depth, aggravating, confusing, and awesome epic series I've ever read. Thank Forum there's a place I can go to figure out what the heck just happened after I read it.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Hello to all the new folks from one of the Old Guard... Back in my day the forums were... Where was I again?
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Hello all, just joined and thought I would drop a line. I am currently reading Memories of Ice. I started reading the series while waiting for more Wheel of Time books (and I still love wot. I know a lot of people have fallen out of favor with it, but I digress..) and rather enjoyed Gardens, although I had to read some parts a few times to get a grasp on what the hell was going on. Deadhouse was incredible. Duiker made the book for me. Anyway, while reading Deadhouse I referred to this site a few times and boom, I have now joined. Look forward to being on the boards.

Hello to the new guys, it's great to have you on board on the board, so to speak, and it's good to know people are picking us up from the address on the books, thanks to Steve and his publishers for that I guess.

Greetings all!

Just started my first re-read of the series, loved it the first time around. Been lurking these boards for some time now and I figured I was ready to get in on the action. As it is, its pretty much a toss up between Erikson and GRRM for my #1 author. The new book could easily tip the scales though. Looking foward to getting some clarification on some issues I had the first time around (particularly with the Segulah).

Hi folks.

I'm a long-lost member who is returning to the fold. I think I stopped paying attention to the site around Book 4 but now I'm ready to get back into the fray. I don't even remember my old username or email so I'm starting over (hopefully the admins do not mind).

Well, nice to be back!

Hail friends!

I'm 28 years old from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Long time fantasy, horror and sci-fi reader here but after reading GRRM's ASoIaF decided not to dive in a long series of books before all of them are published. Now that the 10th Malazan is coming I finally started reading GotM. I'm a little lost (expected) but really enjoying being immersed in this great world. Can't wait to eat them all! Posted Image

Also big fan of H.P.Lovecraft and Guy Gavriel Kay!

Besides reading I love music and music production. I create psychedelic ambient music so if you like some weird sounds, come have a listen: www.flictmusic.com

Hope to have a great time here! Posted Image

Yeah, Erikson's production is rather quicker than Martin, that's for sure!! Hopefully you won't have long to wait for book ten once you've read the rest of the series, normally it's only just over a year between books :) But to be lost is expected, fear not.

And welcome all new members, including old members returned ;)

Hello fellow malazans!

I knew about this place from fellow malazans from deviantArt. But the proposal of Corporal Nobbs got me to join.
I posted a pic of the Jaghut-Huntress in the Malazan-Art-Guild and he asked me to participate in the art-request. :)

So, here I am! :)

I'm a bit flattened by the quality of the art of the other members, so I will take ome time to revise my jaghut-picture.
AND: I would really like to share the original picture, BUT: I can't find the submit-picture-button or anything similar. I know how to attach pic, but I don't know how to uploud them in my gallery. Is there a help-topic in here? I didn't find this either... :/

Apart from that: I'm really happy to be here!

Welcome, new members.

If you want decent exposure for your pics MiMo, might I recommend uploading it in the main gallery rather than yours? No one will see it if you post it there, to be honest. I didn't even know we had our own individual galleries. Here's the link for it (it's in a link at the top of the page anyway):

Uploading is fairly intuitive, and the gallery gets a fair bit of traffic, so...yeah. Hopefully that helps. ;)

Thanks, Mappo's. :)
Perhaps you are right. I didn't want to upload halfready things in the main gallery but on the other side I can get much help with improving if more people see the pic.
But regardless, it would be nice to have all (future) pic's together in one place. And: it's still *** that the gallery don't work, whats it there for?

OK, thanks for replying so fast :)

If feedback is what you're looking for, starting a thread for one particular piece in the Malazan Art forum would be your best bet.

Hi Guys, just signed up to say I love the site, especially the encylopedia. It's been a great help to me in keeping track of different characters and plot lines etc. while reading the series. I've had a look at the art work too, and it's great, some really talented contributors here.

Hi MiMo and welcome :) Hmmm... regarding the gallery in your profile - not sure what's going on there. I'll check into it and get back to you with further information.
Meanwhile - enjoy the forums and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
