Hello! I'm relatively new to forums here but am a big fan of the series. On my 3rd read of them or so. I'm also attempting to paint the deck of dragons in my spare time, you can see various progress in the art section here on the forums.. All feedback is appreciated to help me visualize them as true to the books as possible.
You can see other artwork I've done on my main site - www.misteradam.com - my DA - meesteradam.deviantart.com - or my tumblr - azsart2.tumblr.com
Thanks again to everyone who has been offering feedback and quotes from the books in the art thread, and those of you who have worked on the wiki.

Hi all...I have been a member for a while but haven't signed on in quite some time. Started listening to "the books" on cd which is a really great way to get into them a second (or third, etc) time. Everyone have a great week!

Hello! I'm pretty new to the Malazan world, having just finished Gardens of the Moon. I also own books 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 in TOR hardcover (all book club editions except for Gardens of the Moon which I own in full-size TOR) and am currently working on obtaining the rest. I expect to start on Deadhouse Gates this weekend. I first heard of the Malazan series on the recommendations of one of my all-time favorite authors, Stephen R. Donaldson.
I've read a decent amount of epic fantasy over the years; my favorites include Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Wheel of Time, and A Song of Ice and Fire, just to name a few (I used to be a big fan of Terry Brooks but I lost interest in him around the time of The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara). So far, it looks like The Malazan Book of the Fallen is a real winner!
Looking forward to the ride!

Time to join in…
I'm big into Audio books, they allow me to draw (and drive) while I listen so finding the Books of the Fallen has been a real treat.
Did you know each book is about 30 hour of performance? When I started GotM I found I really had to listen to it twice to truly enjoy it an found myself doing the same with each book in the series. I'm on my third listen of the Book of the Fallen and stopped at House of Chains to check out the Karkanis series. I was hoping to wait until the 3rd book was produced before starting it, but couldn't resist the listen. Especially since Esslemont's books don't seem available in audio format (someone please let me know if they are!).
There's so much stuff worth revisiting and there are some great concepts and characters worth drawing, even if it's in the dark while watching T.V. maybe I'll post some of those bits of art as well.
Anyway, here's one I had fun with.

Hi All!
Belated in arriving here, been reading the series for over 10 years, sadly re-reading far more than one should.
thought I might find my way on to this forum to see what secrets are gleaned, what thoughts are considered and what opinions are considered fact.
That should be the most fun I think...
Anyway, thank you to both Esslemont & Erikson for their realms, and you all for being here with them.

Oh hi there.
Uh, so back in 2000 a book called DEADHOUSE GATES came out and I thought it looked REALLY cool and interesting.
But it was only the 2nd book in a planned 10 book series! After being so annoyed with stuff like Wheel of Time taking forever between books and taking forever to reach a conclusion, I decided to wait for when (if?) the Malazan series would be completed.
At last, I finally started reading Malazan this year. I am blown away! I read GOTM, NoK, DG, and MOI -- I loved them all, and am really excited for HOUSE OF CHAINS!
When I dreamed of my ideal fantasy series, it was a lot like Malazan. I think Erikson and Esslemont actually wrote this series for me specifically but they never knew it.
I have become so obsessed I thought it might be fun to participate in some Malazan discussion.
Ok talk to you later!

Awesome.
Welcome to the forum. You still have 6 books to read + the rest of the ICE books + Kharkanas. Lots of discussion to be had.

Hello All,
To be honest I'm relatively new to the whole forum thing but I'm glad I found this and looking forward to talking with you all. I've just started Gardens of the Moon (6 chapters in) and I'm loving all the plotlines being introduced, the mystery, the history, the magic...etc.
It was a confusing start (kinda still is) but I believe I've somewhat found my footing and I'm ready to continue my journey into this series. There will be a lot to talk about, and I'm sure everyone here will be accommodating.

Hi there Mezla,
I used to mainly hang in another forum on a rather unknown site called FB and finally managed to join you guys here. And why not, the Malazan world has sp many multifacetted topics to offer.
About the books, my husband got me hooked, I am at DoD right now. He himself never got through GotM, strangely. So I really need someone to talk to, it's no fun trying to tell him new things or theories and just earning a look while beard scratching.
Anyway, looking forward to plugging through the forum.
Ahoi!

Welcome to the forums! You are at DoD, so my advice would be to ignore the world and not stop reading until you have finished TCG

Very much true. My baby and cat agree, lying on me and making sure that I finish reading before standing up.
Thank you! I hope to get through as well as this is possible.

You're gonna cry on your baby's head.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hey guys.
I've found this site once or twice before - have no idea how I kept forgetting it. I'm going through my... 5th? Maybe 6th read-through, first quarter of DoD atm.
It's going to be pretty awesome to have informed discussion around here. One gets theories flying everywhere on every book.
Jaghut ftw.

So, I guess I am here to introduce myself.
I have read the entire main series and I am now catching up on IE's books, as well as eagerly awaiting Walk in Shadow!!! The richness and depth of the world created by SE, and IE have captivated my imagination for years now. Can't wait to read through some topics in these forums and hopefully contribute a couple of cents that people will find useful.

Hey guys and gals!
Making my intro post.
All I can say is I'm amazed and was amazed throughout the ten book journey. About to start FoL after just finishing FoD(which was awesome as well) then will become active in other threads! Perhaps I'll hit up the Novels series while waiting for the Shadow novel!
Looking forward to some good discussions!
