It was the best of times, it was the worst of times: it was the 6th December 2008. Stone Monkey thrilled us with tales of Jheri curl, corn rows, dreads and afros, Dag brought baroque chocolates, Mal tried to stangle Broody, Grumble found enough time to tear himself away from comparing the Hawt thread, Hetan tantalised us with oblique references to DoD, Eeeek wibble made a cameo appearance before disappearing and Mezla forced me to bite some woman I didn't know.

You too could experience this and more:

Will Tiste take the day off from hassling God? Which limb will Illy sell to make it up and how hideous will his shirt be? Can Toby survive both the cold and the gutter dialect and make it for a change? Will Imperial Historian make his return to action after a year honing his game in the lowcountries? Will Mezla drink her own body weight in gin...again!

Consensus has been reached, white smoke is rising the day will be the 12th of December, tentative plans: get drunk in Manchester, there may be a chance for a few preliminary drinks on the Friday if people are travelling, but that is yet to be confirmed. So come on you Malazites, let's make this the best Manky meet up yet.

EDIT: actually now I think about it I bit that woman in April.

You had me at hello...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

I'm already booking my flights... :) See you in December!

(Oh, and not to be pedantic or anything... but the date was December 6th 2008.. :) )

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

plane tickets must be cheap between countries in Europe.
Question:

Does being the only sane person in the world make you insane?

If a tree falls in the woods and a deaf person saw it, does it make a sound?

I reckon I am good for the 12th. My 1 bedroom flat can probably sleep 3 in comfort if anyone needs somewhere free to crash. More in relative discomfort and I don't really care since I'm keeping my bedroom for myself :)

Errr, yeah I think comfort might be pushing it unless you regard sharing a fold out bed with someone you met on the internet as 'comfort'

Toby was trying to convince me when I met up with him the other day. Depends on what plans manifest themselves in the meantime, but I might well come up and join in this time round.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

I'm on the loose this fall.

I'm planning on hitting England...oh yes, hitting...sometime in October. But if things go well and I don't run out of money/sanity I think I could make a December Malaz meeting too.

Keep us updated because unless you have cooler people to meet, we English folk have been whispering about a special Rodeo meet up! And if it came to it, I'm sure the Christmas date could be shifted a bit to accomodate a member of the Hall of Fame.....

The date for the Christmas do is concrete, but if Rodeo comes up to Manc in October then I'll make a cast iron promise to take him out and get him banjoed, I reckon Mezla could be persuaded too, although she dislikes drinking as a rule.

Bring him along. It'll be cheaper to rent half a tux anyway.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
