Ah, but it's pretty clear that one can be both a priest AND a mage. I suspect most mages, at the squad mage and local wax witch level, are self-taught and were drawn to a particular warren.

But then you have those with talent AND learning, which i where i imagine we find High Mages, mage/assassin Claw and Andii and others. As far as i recall, we never really learn what Pearl's warren is, but he seems to use, at various points, Mokra, Thyr and access the imperial warren. Plus he's part Andii, which means KG is probably in there somewhere too.

As for priests, the suggest seems to be that they channel their warren as a gift from a god or powerful enough ascendant, which i suppose means that a priest of Mael might use Ruse, but a mage with access to Ruse could use it irrespective of worshipping Mael. Unless all of Mael's priests must also be Ruse adepts.

I imagine a god could have as many High Priests as they wanted, but a destriant is a direct link, and i doubt they could have more than one. Altho logically, Togg and Fanta could have one each perhaps.

- Abyss, should have paid more attention at Sunday School.
