Hi Rahul
We got your message, however with the recent forum uprade it's been a bit busy - but I know Mal will respond.
We are going to the con. Are you still living near Cambridge? Did you want to meet up for a discussion?
edit : and I promise not to call you Suresh again http://forum.malazan...tyle_emoticons/Malazan/tongue.gif apologies.

OK, now I remember who you are! No worries - I take it as a compliment <img src='http://forum.malazanempire.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Cool, thanks for letting me know.

Yes, I still live in Cambridge. If anybody is nearby (where nearby for me includes London, and goes as far 'north' as Birmingham), then yes it would be great to meet up for drinks and a discussion - I'm happy to travel. Whereabouts are you based?
In addition to an independent meet up, I'll see you all at the con. Who exactly is going?

from what I've heard- 1) Yes SE was there. 2) members did attend 3) I wish I could have gone but as it is I'm giving you the best update info I know hehe.
The question thread to ask SE when he was there never got asked since he apparently ran out of time. So Hetan emailed him some questions that he will answer and email back, which is cool.

Hey, yes, sorry here now am *brushes away tumbleweed*
a. Yes, Steve went.
b. I was there, as was Hetan and Mal. I don't think any other members were there.
c. So we basically hung out for a few days, drinking (lots) and eating (too much). I spent most of the Monday after recovering.
There was some Malazan talk. For example, I pointed out that the sword Chance disappears without a trace after GotM; Steve said he had forgotten about it and now it might just appear in the final book. Here's hoping it does.
I also met some really interesting authors and publishers. Pete Crowther of PS Publishing is hilarious -- well worth having a curry or two with! I beat Pete in an epic game of Nim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nim), but I was then sorely trounced by Ramsey Campbell.
I was also there for some Malazan business. However, even though I am literally dying to talk about it in public, I need to hold off for now. Must. Stop. Typing. Now.
<bzzzt>
Other than that, the weekend was mostly just chatter about life, the universe and a few of the things in it. Highly recommended

It seems SE has a problem with swords. First Lorn's, now Chance
Anyway, there's only one thing I feel. Envy

Didn't Paran take Lorn's sword and shatter it for the Trygalle Trade Guild?
Yes; apparently this was only included in BH when it was pointed out to Steve that Lorn's sword, which had been epic all through GotM, had just disappeared completely from the story. (I can't remember who exactly pointed this out -- apologies.)
