Definitely. I actually screwed up the duel result on that Liu Bei rout, accidentally had Li Ru in there, so changed it fast. I think only Ment saw it and I asked him to keep hush about it. I'm sure he'd have realized pretty quickly that Alkend wasn't Lu Bu anyway as soon as Alt duels someone's ass tomorrow...

So I'm going to have to play very middle of the road to avoid pulling a duel, since the lowest and highest posters, as well as anyone who appears even remotely scummy. The plan of action is definitely to eliminate all the CIs as quickly as possible, as they will just double the number of CI every day that they are alive. Hopefully the other scum see this too. I might have used my duel yesterday slightly too early, but that was before you changed the rules, so it was the right move at the time.
If their arent any CI (gonna be a day or two before we reach that stage of the game, if ever) then I'm definitely going to have to go for people outside my timezone who havent duelled yet, since that keeps the suspect pool as large as possible.

Well, Karosis and Sorrit are fools to say they can't talk on thread. So maybe we didn't specifically say not to talk about not talking about it, but {a} that is from PMs from PS and shouldn't necessarily be regurgitated on-thread, and {b} it's pretty obvious that if there's a reason not to talk about the results (like it's too big a give-away for town) that there's thus an equally good reason not to talk about not talking about it (like it's too big a give-away for town!).

I don't really want to modkill them, as they're idiots but didn't necessarily technically break the indicated rule... maybe I'll just take away their ability to duel or something, since that's the mechanic they've broken...

Well the problem here is that I was never uncertain about the rules regarding this. The disclaimer was clear, and it did not even cross my mind that I was meant - as a mod kill based rule - to ignore every request, question, demand or threat aimed my way in regards to my announced duel. That's a massive limitation to how what I can say for the rest of the game, and as more days progress the limitations will become ever more severe if I continue to duel people, or not for that matter.

So no, I was never uncertain about this because I assumed that I would be told about something as drastic as that.

I'm sorry for bombing you with these messages, but I get really frustrated when you threaten to mod-kill me for breaking a rule I didn't know existed. Not to mention I can't really psot until this is resolved either.

D'rek here. While I admit that we didn't specifically say not to talk about not talking about the duel result, it seems rather silly to me that you would go and assume such. Note that (almost) no one else has mentioned no-duel results on thread. Gee I wonder why? Maybe because no one is supposed to talk about them! Besides that, saying that you are barred from talking about something on-thread is pretty much akin to re-telling what PS has told you in a PM, and you're not supposed to do that either!

I have no idea how many did duel for no result and I don't want to know either. I'm however not the only one who interpreted the rules this way. In fact, I followed your rules to the letter. It is not my responsibility to assume the existance of rules I have not been made aware of, nor is it my responsibility to speculate on the purpose of the limitations given to me. I was told I could not reveal the result of my duel and I did not. I made a post that I felt was well within the boundries of the rules and though you'd perhaps like this not to be the case, that does not make it any less true.

Now, perhaps there was some sort of clear implication that I missed. I'm not a native speaker after all and it would not be the first time I miss nuances to the english language, but I do not feel that I should be expected to either. The rule was clear and I followed it to the best of my ability.

If you feel that my comment broke the rules in regards to quoting posts from PS then our interpretations of that rule differs substansially. It is however your game and if you decide to mod-kill me for that then that naturally is your choice.

Well I'm not going to modkill you, because as you say you didn't technically go against what I said. That being said, if I didn't want you revealing the no-duel result because doing so would have some effect, I would've thought it'd be evident that revealing that you can't reveal the result would still have that same effect and thus shouldn't be done.
Anyways, you'll live... but don't do it again. Also I may have to arrange some sort of flogging for you...
