@sorrit: understood.
I think the whole "summarizing to help out" is an overplayed scum finding method. When was the last time that has actually happened? Scum around these malazan parts are usually smarter than that.

this is joining a long line of things you say that are pinging my scum radar quite strongly. The only scummier post you made was saying you suspect neither sorrit or myself which felt too much like sucking up to both sides of an argument. Coupled with the total lack of an opinion i would say your middle of the road routine is starting to look very forced.

I hesitate to agree with anyone at this (or any other) point of the game tbh, especially as you are all clearly acting scummy, but HPs logic is sorely lacking.
Yes Emurlahn is a viable suspect as scum, but no more than anyone else. High amount of spam in a low spam game? Well hactually I think you will find I had the most spam...although that might not be the wisest thing to point out...
.
Lack of content...well it was early day 1, when do we ever have content early day 1? And before anyone says I am symping anyone I am not, I'll vote for any of you at this point in the game. But if we are going to lynch someone let it be on a factual case not because someone isn't the highest spammer, is one of many who hasn't posted content or because someone else has voted for one on the train.
At the moment I am concerned about Karatallid's posts. Seem very middle of the road to me.
Edit: Cross post.

I don't have an opinion currently, so sue me.
I could bulldog off on someone else in order to put "pressure" on them, but that would only be a derailment from the current discussion since I wouldn't have much reasoning to back up why I was going after so and so.

Ok, i come back after sleeping and now have 3 votes. The "summary" was more just trying to get some people onto the thread as noone had said anything for maybe 4 hours and it worked, the summary part was clearly a joke. Of the 3 votes I dont have a clue about Thyrlan as his entire post was just a vote for me and i dont think (iirc) hes been back since. Sercs vote seemed to be an attempt to do sometihng so i dont mind that one, HP's comments about voting me because he didnt want to split the pack are very weird as that just doesnt really promote discussion at all.

I had to read that sentence 3 times before I got it. I have to disagree with you though.

fair enough, thinking on it more it probably would promote discussion because of its weirdness but i still dont think voting for one person because theyve already got votes is ever a good reason unless were in maybe the last 2 hours and definitely want a lynch

Both you and GL are missing the point - by doing so HP has sparked discussion. Since it's not at the very end, it's not an attempt to sheeple a speed lynch but to bring people out. Whether you believe that or not, it worked. That's why I don't find what HP did suspicious. And I've already explained why Sorrit's response isn't necessarily suspicious.
This is why I"m so "middle of the road" and pinging people's scumdars oh noes.

so you would prefer that nothing happened and then i voted you when there was no chance that anyone would even discuss it? Thats a very odd viewpoint. It seems people want us to do nothing until we reach the point where we can only do one thing and one thing only.

Yes, Emur is right. The only reason HP's vote helped discussion was because I took issue with his poor reasoning. If he'd justified the vote better it would not have been helpful.
Emurlahn, Galayn Lord and Karatallid have all been around and posting since discussion got going, but have not voted. Waiting until the end to vote is bad for the innocents, because we just end up lynching whoever's top at the time, instead of discussing it properly. If you suspect someone, vote for them. If you don't suspect anyone, you're too non-committal to be left alive (Karat, i'm looking at you).

My vote on emurlahn was half to get the discussion on to something more serious and half actually genuinely having a go at a rather standard scummy thing to do.
I did think he was most probably being sarcastic...but it was his only bloody serious statement for the day....and it a was a cliche scummy statement to boot.
I'm glad we have got the tyoe of response that we have.
The game has taken off a bit...its left the realm of mindless spam and enterd the realm of mafia...
You're welcome
But the aftermath i think is rather interesting....and Karat i find the most mind boggling at the moment.
Talk about painting that white line in teh road buddy...
As for sorrit and HP.
Well i myself found HP's adding on his vote and reasoning rather "weak"....but i thought i would leave it, not comment and see what comes to the surface....see what others had to say first. So i can kind of agree that i almost see where sorrit was coming from in jumping onto HP the way he did.
However I dont like it when people jump to others defense before the person getting targeted has a go at defending himself first.
I find it muddys the waters and the good old "you are his symp" thing inevitably comes to the party and gets quite messy especially since its most of the time two inno's arguing.
It also makes it harder to find scum because every one is defending everyone and you cant find partners as easy.
In a perfect game of mafia...people should defend themselves and every one can then discuss later...alas...this will never happen.
Im thinking now that these two could very well be two innos having a go at one another...
thats y thoughts so far....
the worst thing ive seen is karats middle of the roading....and thats not much either.

Wait how is that what i said at all? Youve actually said that you voted me over other people because i already had votes, what youve just said is not in any way related to my comment so stop putting words in my mouth please

There's enough time for further discussion and even for different cases. I am not about to be harangued into a vote because you say so Sorrit.
I thought Karatallid's post about me and GL missing the point actually made sense...so I was starting a reread...so I will vote when I am good and ready.
Edit: Cross post
