that's very true. 1st time i've ever done a 14 person draft. it makes the game a lot diffrent for sure.

With my limited knowlegde of the NFL we are now going into players i have never ever heard of. I didnt expect that to happend this soon. WTF am i supposed to pick from now on :ermm:

How can you call Pittsburgh Defense a shocker and not mention Percy Harvin, who i havent ever heard of and isnt on my printed top 100 list TB?

Yep ....... Harvin has gone about 6 rounds too early ....... big(reach) call KM ..... Gator receivers don't have great reps in NFL but I hear some good things about him in the Wildcat with AP#28 ...... shame they have no QB.

LOL you beat me to that Daser, I just heard it on ESPN radio and was going to /point /laugh at SB .. but you stole my thunder.

There are still alot of good " quality " guys left in there. There are lot of guys who may end up better then early picks. this always happens. you just have to be patient and watch to see if someone goes down and who their back up is, and so forth.

I never said Pittsburgh itself was a shocker, they are the number one defense. It's how early he picked a defense. As SB himself admits, it's really early to be picking defense, even with 14 players. Usually defense isn't picked until the 10th round at the earliest. Alot of people won't pick a defense or a kicker until the fifteenth round. They are a good defense ther is no denying that. Although if you look at last years original rankings for defense and then who actually ended up being the top defensive teams alot of the predictions were waaay off.

As for Harvin, of course you haven't heard of him, he is a rookie, Minnesota's first round draft pick! So his ranking doesn't mean anything! He tore it up for the Gators last year! He may not be on your top 100 list but he was a dual WR/RB for Florida. He had 1,929 receiving yards and 1,852 running in his college career and was a favourite for the Heisman trophy in 2007! There is absolutely nothing crazy about that pick. Taking a rookie is always a risk, but he will get playing time with the Vikings and you can't just dismiss numbers like that! It's a good pick by KM!

You can't just go by the ranking lists alone, you have to consider the dynamic, and style of play of each team and the players potential.

Percy Harvin did not have a combined 4,000 yards last year. That's ludicrous. That would have been Heisman for sure. I'll buy those career numbers, though.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Sorry those were carreer stats, and he was a favourite for Heisman trophy in 2007. I will go correct my other post. He did have 1,313 yards with 14 touchdowns, rushed for 504 yards and 13 additional scores his senior year. For anyone wanting to chek up on him here is a link off of NFL.com.

No matter how you look at it those are good numnbers.

Those are great stats. Just a little better than the stats of Jabar Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, Ike Hilliard and Chad Jackson. :ermm:

Who knows though, he might be a stud.

also Harvin is ranked in the 40's in WR ranks, and i believe he is the 2nd highest ranked rookie WR behind crabtree who is a drama queen atmand will only be a WR if he even gets to camp, but also if you read about what hes doing in training camp and that teh viks plan to use him in a lot fo roles, he will certainly be just as good or better than the average WR this year.

Stats FAIL ....... :ermm:

That should read 1313 yards combined ..... 40 catches 644 yards 7tds as a receiver down 1/3 on his receiver stats from the year before. His rushing stats are fantastic but last time I looked Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor were still on the running back depth chart.

Certainly an explosive player with potential in the wildcat and return games.

Stats or no, you have to admit, he's not a ridiculous pick for KM to make. He will defintely get KM a decent amount of points this season.

Edit: Where is TT?!?
