A History of Violence and Eastern Promises are both very good movies and worth a look.

Also Black Hawk Down i think is one of the better war movies to come out over the last few years.

I'm sorry, but the inclusion of Die Hard 2 here means you fail, that film was l-a-c-k-i-n-g.

easily the worst of the four.

In terms of crazy Thai action films,
I'd also add:

Chocolate (autistic girl learns to fight from watching Ong-Bak. No, Really)
Born to Fight (sports stars adapt their skills to fight off a drug lords army of henchmen. Again, no, Really)

to be honest I was disappointed by Flags of our Fathers. I'll risk the statement that probably if you're not american, the movie won't do anything for you... I was really expecting a lot since it's directed by Clint Eastwood, and he's the GO TO man for good films really, both as actor and director... such a shame there.

I agree. I liked that one, but then I saw the Japanese one, and I was stunned. The first one was still gritty and hard, but the second one was just astonishing!
