On regard of his post.... If we go a bit further, how about saying that Locke faction and Spider factions are likely to have 5 each, and the same for the 4 men groups, each evenly sized group having mirrored night actions? And if so, who holds the advantage? Locke's faction, for being the only one to go after a 4-man group?

If they match up symmetrically then there's two 5s going after a 4 each, and if they dont match up then there is a 5 going after a 5 which is going after a 4 which is going after another 4 which is going after that first 5. In that case then yeah the 4 going after the 5 is at a disadvantage in pure numbers and the 5 going after the 4 is at an advantage, but i'm sure the roles balance it all out well enough.

okay that was confusing sounding. Let's just say that it's likely the groups of 4 have a bit more ability-wise, like one of the non-leaders having a BP so it takes the same number of kills to eliminate the faction.

Interesting number guesses Gamelon but I would side with Tellan that we should assume it's powers that will balance the factions, not some kind of asymmetrical numbering.

I don't even know why we are having this conversation the teams have to be uneven due to the amount of players. Which if the game is balanced (it doesn't matter if it is) would mean that the teams with lower numbers will have a member with extra power. But by no means should we assume that the game is balanced. There are several mods who couldn't care less if games are totally balanced then there are others who go to insane lengths to balance it only to have that messed up by an early death of say the one healer in the game. But back to the topic of my death. When were you going to let me know that I was dead. After I had fought the same battle for 3000 years. Information like that should be shared as quickly as possible. I could have been busy getting it on with some of the Persian whores for the last 1000 years. Instead I have been chopping the arms off of other dead soldiers.

I agree with Sil's assessment of the team make-up. I would hazard a guess that the nobleman dude and his wife will make up another two members of the spider's faction. IF there is off thread comms it would likely be them for that faction two. Kind of at a loss as to who makes up the final player though and which faction they might be in.

No, they're mentioned in the wiki too. Not 100% sure they're in the game though, it's difficult to tell with less names than players.

If the husband and wife are in there's only one other player that hasnt been mentioned by name, who could be in any of the factions, although is least likely a GB.

Don Lorenzo Salvara and his wife? Those are the only two that seem like they fit, but nothing is mentioned about 'The Spider.' It says something later about the city spymaster tipping them off to Locke's scam, so is The Spider the city spymaster?

I see other names in the wiki page that aren't in the list. Chains, who originally bought Locke as a child, or Sabetha who apparently isn't even in the book but is Locke's love interest.

The Spider is the duke's underhand/ spymaster. Basically head of the secret police.
