This will be an 14~18-person high body-count merc. Will probably being on Monday evening GMT+8 (so noon-ish for you Brits).

The theme is The Lies of Locke Lamora. A good deal of information will be presented so that book knowledge will not be necessary/required. Ment's helped make the setup / co-modding so he can't join. Otherwise...

Currently signed up:
1. HoosierDaddy
2. Tapper
3. Shinrei
4. Morgoth
5. Malaese
6. DiBs
7. Bwgan

I'm unsure of Ment's exact availability at the moment, but I'm currently in GMT+8 (as said before) so there may or may not be some gaps in responses and updates and whatnot. Be forewarned.

:X Merc, yeah! AND it's a book I have read, I know, I know it doesn't matter, but it does give one a sense of inclusion...AND I have no work on Monday...the ONLY thing that could make it better is if we started today... What? Look a girl is entitled to be demanding if she wants.... :X
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

Just let me kill anybody...I'm not fussy...anyone will do...I've never killed anyone...please DON'T make me a healer...I am crap at being a healer...but in the vein of HD's post I want you to know this is in no way a complaint. I am so happy about this game I don't care what I get really.

I love The Lies of Locke Lamora. But I usually lose merc games for my team.
"pseudoscience and superstition will seem year by year more tempting, the siren song of unreason more sonorous and attractive. Where have we heard it before? Whenever our ethnic or national prejudices are aroused, in times of scarcity, during challenges to national self-esteem or nerve, when we agonize about our diminished cosmic place and purpose, or when fanaticism is bubbling up around us – then, habits of thought familiar from ages past reach for the controls. The candle flame gutters. Its little pool of light trembles. Darkness gathers. The demons begin to stir." - Carl Sagan

Only if you're not filled up by the time the game starts.

While I really like Lies, my laptop's fried power supply has forced me into a timeshare of the family laptop, which will reduce my playing time to the point at which it's not worth me playing. Especially given that I'm not going to have the time to be at the computer much next week anyway...sorry guys.

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Bah. Holiday here and yet it seems like most of the sign-uppers are Americans. Where o where are all our European/South African/Australian/Marsian friends?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
