The way I see it is infected aren't on anyone side until they pick a side and try their best to get on that side properly, cause that is the only way they have a chance to win.
So our current infected has two options try to go for the reveal, hell the healer if he here doesn't have to heal them! Or keep quiet and hope that he becomes the DG.

I actually was agreeing under the idea that the DG gets LYNCHED day 1, not killed, but I didn't clarify that at the time. If the DG were to get lynched, then revealing today as the infected is sure-fire lose when Duncan cures you tonight and says, "Hey you're the new DG." Besdies, I'm more in the "he should reveal" camp, not just head-wagging with Tellan, whom I have firmly in my "mentally challenged" camp.
Since the infected doesn't know the DG, he can't exactly make a determination to reveal based on the DG's possible lynch.
If an infected revealed today and the DG was lynched, then Duncan wouldnt have to heal the infected to know he was the new DG - there wouldn't be anyone else it possibly could be.
*SNIP*
True, only reason I can see him doing it is to confirm the veracity of the reveal, although with the guaranteed lynch the next day on the claimed infected, would probably would be better for him to try and guess who is getting infected.
I more or less agree with your logic about why the infected would or would not reveal based upon giving information out about a healer to the scum teams, but remember that the infected is not on a team and thus playing for himself. If you are the first infected, your goal is basically to try and survive the DG's death (both of them) and not get blown up, lynched, or killed in the process. You aren't hoping to become the replacement.

I think Rashan was talking about all of us voting night to see who was the infected player but I don't see how that works considering the power that makes the infected vote a specific way hasn't been in effect considering night hasn't come....
The first infected player will not reveal... it would be stupid to do so considering there is a chance that it could screw them over. I think the DG can only choose one of his powers per night... which would mean he would probabbly want to infect quite a few people before he makes them all vote or makes a few die. I wouldn't think he can do them all at once as he would be able to kill people as soon as they are infected.
Right now I am more inclined to vote for Rashan for obvious reasons..

I just caught up, and all the reading ate up my time. Lots of interesting stuff to read, although I skimmed over the part where the conversation turned to Norwegian Dragon Sex.
Pretty dense material for day1, but it's helped me get a better idea on the game mechanics. I want to give it a reread, there are some interesting back and forths going on. THat'll have to wait though as I have to go, but I'll be back for deadline.

Why would you speculate incorrectly on this when you could have just read the opening role post? *sigh* Why don't you people read the rules?

The Doppelganger
1 hit BP
Night Actions:
Infect -> Infect one player.
Chose Replacement -> decides which infected player will become the new DG if the original DG dies. The DG v.2 has all the powers of the original except for the BP and the Chose Replacement power. If the player chosen as replacement dies and the DG is also killed before he can pick again, the first player infected that is still alive becomes the DG v.2.
Synapse Overload -> The DG can decide to kill any number of infected players
Compulsion -> All infected are compelled to vote for a specific alt. They are allowed to vote for as many players as they want during the day, but they need to have their vote on the chosen target when the day ends. If they fail to do this then the compulsion becomes so severe it tears their minds apart and they die. Example: The DG compells the infected to vote Kalse. The infected can vote on whomever they wish, but when the day ends their vote needs to be on Kalse or they die.
Any number of these powers can be used a night. There are no limits to how many times they can be used, but only once a night.

Before the begining of day 1, the mods draw a random alt to be infected. The DG will be told which alt is his first victim.
The DG comes up as infected upon death.
